Arpon Basu in the Athletic today confirmed that the Habs are looking to package Evans and Armia and asking for a 1st rounder.

If it is a 1st rounder above pick 15, it doesn’t worth it. The draft pool depth this season is very shallow.

No idea. Carolina traded Drury and Necas. I'd say Laine at 50% and Newhook might be a starting point. There is a big difference between Laine and Necas though so we'd have to fill that difference some how.

For Rantanen salary I'd offer 13.5.

he mentioned it as a hypotehtical proposal before but now hes saying that he's hearing from "league sources" that KH is actually proposing this combo and asking a 1st for both. he then hypothesizes that Kh will use some combo of the 3 1sts to make an impact trade for a long-term (not rental) impact player

There's a lot of nice pieces you can grab in the mid 1st to mid 2nd you can have sit in your prospect pool.and then trade said player + to get a nice, established roster player.

Armia is decent, but there's no way he's still apart of the team in 4 years when they're hopefully really ramping up.

There's a solid chance Evans isn't even there.

If you can get a 1st for that duo you take it, especially considering individually they're not going to get 2 2nds, let along 2 high 2nds that would allow you to trade up into the first.

Hughes love to package picks for young players, I say its worth it. Why the hell a team out of playoff spots would give their top 15 picks for rentals, lmfao!

I find that scenario of Suzuki and Dach both injured ridiculous and nonsense. We might be the only nhl team with scenario like that. I can't imagine Avs, Bruins, Oilers and Stars fans having that horror movie scenario and wanting to keep a bad center just in case of, especially when younger and better centers are on the way to take the place.

And because he might have a small injury (like 40% of players) Habs have to sign Evans 4mx6 years or keep/ sign Dvorak?

Jersey fans don't talk very good about Nemec. They say he played 12 games this season and crapped the bed in them. Got sent down, sulked and played bad down there. Probably not a guy I want here. Given Montreal will have to give up a ton to get him.
