My guess is that @le_sean works as a private investigator.
He doesn't say things like "toots", or "see?"after stating something.

Doesn't talk about smoking a cigarette every 10 minutes in a dimly lit room while listening to depressive jazz from the 50s.

Never talks about the one that "got away" in relation to an adversary, or a lover.

I'd say he's more like a Spy.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't look like Robert Mitchum or Humphrey Bogart either !

Anderson played solid game Tonight. Scored a goal, aggressive on the forecheck on first goal.

I have mixed feelings on it but would you trade him for a late first? He's one of few tough guys we have, wears the CH on his heart. But we should be able to sign a physical 4th liner for half of 5.5 million. Frees up 3 million in caproom next season. Moves Heineman up to 3rd line. The extra first could sure up right D with a Hensler or Fiddler type.

From our FAs, I think Evans and Savard would be the most interesting pieces for Washington.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Washington go all in this year with the regular season run they've had and the 8 clock running out.

Taking back Ethan Bear to clear them of the AHL bury overcap would fit us as well to finish the year.

Looking at it, maybe an Armia for Mangiapane switch would suit them as well to free some cap? Depends how they value Mangiapane contribution to the PP vs Armia freeing others from the PK.

I don't see Dvorak and Pezzetta fitting.

Other than Xhekaj, we need another veteran tough presence with Demidov making his way to North America. I think we should keep him until next year and instead trade Evans, Armia and Savard.

Like you said, it should be possible to sign a tough bottom6 player for half the cap hit.

We need a sea change, this roster is dysfunctional.

Wonder if Hughes would trade for Rantanen’s rights after the season to get the 8th year. With the surplus of picks we have, wouldn’t be a bad idea if he showed any interest in playing for Habs.

It would be a bad idea because of the cost in players, picks, etc. to acquire him just so you can add an 8th year to a deal.

Pay him in mostly up front bonuses on a front-loaded contract and he would make the same money (if properly invested) in future money as on a regular 8-year contract.

At a hotel in downtown Montreal and I’ve run into 3 Capitals scouts for some reason which is odd because they don’t play the Habs again this season. Take that as you will, really random.

Maybe they still have interest in Evans? They're already a top pk team but could use more depth at center anyway.

Washington is one of the few teams that still have their 2025 1st round draft pick.

I don't think Montreal would. They're trying to build now, which means you need actual NHL players. People may not like Anderson's contract, but he's working hard this year, has re-found his identity and has been good on the pk.

His speed has helped Gallagher have a small resurgence too. Anderson opens up a lot of space & Gallagher doesn't get bothered in the slot all that much anymore.

You can't build and keep trading away players for draft picks.

I don't expect Montreal to trade away both Evans & Dvorak. Probably just Evans. I wouldn't be surprised if they resign Dvo to be 4th line center next year.

Anderson might be better with Dach and Laine to open up space for Laine on that line and help recover from turnovers with his speed on the back check?

Please no Dvorak. We need players that play with pace . Dvorak doesn’t , Evans does.

They lost Necas in this deal..............they would want Caufield plus to get Rantanen.....

Sunk cost fallacy.

What happens if the Habs trade away both Evans and Dvorak, Suzuki stops playing with an injury, and Dach gets an injury?
