He shouldn't, but...
Till the end of the season and potentially into the playoffs is where teams will be keeping a close eye on Pettersson.
He's struggled. Rift between he and Miller and neither was really playing well and then Miller was traded. Pettersson is still very meh.
He isn't good on the dot.
He isn't physical.
He does do a little bit of PKing.
Vancouver isn't going to sell low on him.
You're paying premium assets to acquire a player who you're going to hope can get back to around 90 points and you're giving up 10% of your cap for a guy who doesn't do a lot outside of creating offense, so if he isn't doing that he isnt really doing anything.
If you can trade Calgary's 1st, Dach, Newhook and Mesar for him, by all means I'd take that risk, but you're likely giving up a better roster player, 1 of the firsts and a top 5/7prospect for him and then hoping he can get back to what he did before.
With all that said the latest rumours are that he's no longer on the block.
