Is Cozens any better than Dach?

Said it a few times and will say it again.. Bet you the next 5-8 years will be similar production between these two!

When I look at the Sabres, I see a RD need… Dought we move Reinbacher but we are probably open to moving Mailloux.

I don’t remember him laughing. If anything he seemed very interested coming to meet BargainBin and Molson and visiting the Bell Center.

He ultimately went to Nashville but I think he was genuine with his interest.

He went to Nashville, tax reasons if I remember right

Trade them for a great value trade and then try to get an actual impact player , idk who but find him. If we have Dach and Newhook in the top 6 next year again im gonna f***ing punch a wall

I think both can be a very useful and effective pieces for this team moving forward but their roles need to change.

I think Dach is better suited as a winger in the top 6, and Newhook should be converted to a 3rd/4th liner and used on the penalty kill.

Cozens compete level and defensive game are vastly superior to Dach's. I still don't see why there's an interest in him given that he's not really a center.

My gut says the same but I do ponder about it.

Yes, so it stands to reason that Dach can improve his face-offs with more experience and repetitions. Just as Cozens has. He's not a good face-off guy, so it's not a reason to acquire him.

When I look at Cozens.
Does he drastically improve our face-off situation? No.
Does he have a good contract? No.
Does he produce in line with what we need from a 2C? Not outside of one outlier year offensively.
Is he a left shot? No.
Is he a for sure center? No.

Dach didn’t never really showed he can be good on faceoff though and I always said to be patient with a young center like him in that department.

Cozens is a career 47.4 % what is on part with what Couturier and Barkov when they where at his age and now they in the best in that department.

Cozens is not a bad add for the Habs… depending on what we give to get

Can't give up Reinbacher for Cozens, unless you have a deal in place for an established RHD on a long term deal of six or more years.

If the Habs trade for Cozens, it will involve assets like Mailloux, Beck, Roy, Calgary's first round pick, and/or our two 2nd round picks (not all of these things together).

Newhook and Dach, whether you like it or not, are part of the core, with Suz, Slaf, Caufield and Demidov. I also think Hage is untouchable.

Center Philip Tomasino (26 g, 11 pts) that Pittsburgh got on waivers or center Morgan Frost (52 g, 26 pts) that Calgary got for next to nothing. All three of these centers are producing at the same rate or better than Dach (#13 + #66 draft pick) and Newhook (#31 + #37 draft pick).
