This is just a hunch but i think we are in on Pettersson .I watched a bit of the Canucks game and he doesn't look any better than he did when Miller was there.I think he wants out of there.I think because of his lousy play and the terrible contract he can be had for very little. If he could turn his career around he would be exactly what we need.Of course it could turn out to be a disaster also.
IF your hunch is right.
I sure hope he wakes up and plays like a #1 centre here.

for all posters that bag on PL, think how this could go

...do we really need to take on that massive turd of a contract hoping & praying Petey stops being a mopey bag of shyte??...we're already trying to "fix" Laine and his $9 mill...

...what about Middlestadt??...could we "fix" him too??...

Would you trade Laine for a 1st pick (somewhere from 17th to 32nd) ?

...Dach is a terrible defensive liability at centre, if we want to be honest...put him on RW with less defensive responsibilities and he looks better...
I was always wondering why cant we try Evans as 2C. He can at least defend and win FOs. Laine-Evans-Dach
3C Dvorak/Newhook
4C Beck

What about Dach or Newhook and the later of the 2 firsts for Cozens? I'd suggest Reinbacher but BUF seems set on the blueline

Dach and a 1st for Cozens would be paying double the amount of salary and a 1st round pick to play the game of, can this right shot centre, who might be better off on wing, be the answer to the 2C question. I'm a no on that. Dach has always projected better down the middle to me than Cozens.

Newhook and a 1st for Cozens. Value is closer for me but then we'd be down to just Dvorak who can take face-offs as a left shot.

Reinbacher for Cozens would be a horrible move for us.

Oh i know.Risk for sure and the Canucks would have to eat a lot of salary and bad contract. When was the last time this team had a true star centre?.Ya Suzuki is ok but he is not a true #1 superstar centre

Wouldn’t be an immediate solution for 2C, but targeting Pittsburgh’s 2025 1st round pick to draft LHC Desnoyers would be a great option moving forward if both teams remain in their current position (7th for PIT and 11th for MTL) and the latter is still available.

Would Habs’ 1st + PIT’s 2nd (39th) be enough for such a swap or would the Penguins require CGY’s 1st (17) instead of their own?

I’d do it with PIT’s pick, not sure if I’d do it with CGY however…

Last draft San Jose traded the 14th pick and 42nd pick to move up 3 spots to 11 so I’d think it would take more than the 39th pick to move up 4 spots from 11th to 7th.

ok
what about Ryan Donato for 2nd centre.
15 goals this year.... not cost a pile

just now sure on his passing skills and faceoffs
