HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread #89: 2024-2025 season part II

Evans would probably be already signed if he did not want too much. I still believe he's gone. Said the same about Monahan last year.
I tend to agree with you: he would have been signed already if he was asking something that MTL was willing to pay. With the team reverting to its previous level of play, I get the sense that if the offer is good, he's gone. I just hope it's not a pick.

I'm fine with that, we're at a point where we have the assets to be bold and still have good young guys left after.
Just seems like robbing Peter to pay Paul. Our right side after that would be:

Mailloux
Konyushkov
...Sobolev? Kostenko?

We need more of what Reinbacher brings unfortunately, not less. I'd go after Nemec before I'd go after Pettersson

Kind of hope it's a 1st round pick. Having three 1st round pick next draft would put us in a very good position to be agressive right when we want to start to be agressive.

Evans + for Nemec?

What's New Jersey:s motivation?
I dont think the Devils are in go all in mode but I think they have reached the point where they want to be in the post season, and it looks like they are buyers. They need a 3C and Evans can fit that. They also apparently want some secondary scoring and while Anderson would not be their 1st or maybe even 2nd choice, he could help them and we could retain. They dont have a 1st in 2025 and we could trade them the Calgary 1st, though I dont think picks is what they are looking for. Add in Mailloux who is big and talented offensively though shaky on D. So our offer is essentially 3 mid- late firsts ( Calgary's and the cost for Evans and Mailloux 31st overall ) and Anderson.

Nemec is not a rehabilitation project he just hasnt been able to be one of the 6 best. And they may want one very good quality piece back instead of a bag of lower quality assets. However, Nemec is getting annoyed and may be at the point of requesting a trade which will likely create an issue, though Nemec really has no leverage as he is signed until 2026. So they really have no pressure to trade him.

Would I take that package for Nemec ? No, but Im not a GM with some pressure to get into the post season, and the package isnt some awful low ball offer. You never know.

And maybe we dont want Nemec for that price and prefer to go for a veteran D who can really help over the next 4-5 years.

FWIW, Mailloux is probably more interesting from Vancouver's point of view, he's ready to play some minutes in the NHL right now. He's the one I'd be targeting .

I still think we should be doing everything we can to get Pettersson, if the Nucks are actually leaning towards trading him instead of Miller. We have the assets right now and you don't get a ton of chances at an already locked up 26 years old top center. He's far from perfect, but with him on the team, we'd be ready to be aggressive next summer and really turn the corner on the rebuilt for good.
They would rightfully want Suzuki and thats a no for me.

If Suzuki is the only way to make it happen, then it's an obvious no, there would be no point for us.
I don't see why they move him without at least a C with good potential coming back. If Dach was on track for 60 points this year, given his age I could see them open to getting him and another good piece, but Dach is just starting to hit his stride. One rumour is Dylan Cozens and Bowen Byram, and that sounds like a decent package.

No offense, but what stability does Dvorak bring? He's quite literally one of the worst forwards in the league when it comes to on-ice impact. I guess he's liked in the dressing room but does that matter when he drags every line he's on down?

Anderson / Dvorak / Gallagher is one of the better 5/5 lines in the NHL in terms of goals scored/60. Dvorak doesn't put up much offense but he does a lot of boring stuff out there that has value. Not a bad guy to have if it's another year on a value contract. Heck, even if he was one of the 13th or 14th forwards. Better to have someone like this as an extra forward vs one of our youth that don't play games.

I have to disagree here. Dvorak, at any contract value, is useless beside faceoff. Lack of quality depth is hurting MTL right now and he's the no1 forward not pulling his weight right now. You would think that going into your UFA year, you would show signs of compete, but no... he's a black hole of... everything. If Beck was a LH C, Dvorak would have been waived or just sent into another dimension.

So you are going to complain if he comes back on a $1M contract and we either use him with Anderson and Gallagher again or he is the 13th or 14th forward? Come on man. The Anderson / Dvorak / Gallagher line is underrated. Overpaid yes but underrated to some degree.

I have no issue with Anderson play and contract. Gally's contract isn't a problem too, but he's getting too slow and I would use him as a 13th forward, Dvorak, I dont care about the contract... I care about his play and beside faceoff, he's been bad. He's lucky to play with two guys that have "no-quit" in their game this year, because otherwise.... he would be much more exposed. I would go even further and say that you put a decent C between Anderson and Gally and you could have better results.

MTL lacks quality depth right now. If the 1st line isn't scoring, odds are that the team wont generate much offense. At 1M... I'm asking why not go for an upgrade or a young guy???

So like the Habs have up on Beauchemin and Hainsey?

Think about who the 13th and 14th forwards are next year? Do you really think it's a good idea to have one of our kids sitting and watching games? Dvorak is a decent piece to have for depth. Yeah, I know how that looks but I can see this happening.

Evans ++ for Nemec
Dvorak for 2027 2nd rd pick
Armia for 2027 2nd rd pick
Savard - 2026 5th rd pick.

I'm down for the Evans++ for Nemec! I think the Devils seriously consider this if we offer the Habs 1st on top. Habs probably prefer to offer the Flames 1st instead because we would have to have our pick with lottery protection.

Dvorak is probably a 3rd or 4th round return.

Armia can get a 2nd and prospect. He will get a lot of interest if we trade him.

Savard could be a 2nd but not sure. He really seems to have run out of gas. Might be a 3rd
