I see alot of ryan O'reilly talk here. When was a free agent a lot of the current team went to hughes asking him to sign him. Don't know if he tried or not but would be perfect.

I like both O'Reilly and Duchene but they are 33 and 34.

Maybe they could be a pavelski type player but I dunno. I don't know if they fit our window

I mean pavelski in terms of longevity. I just feel we aren't deep enough down the middle. Maybe O'Reilly could work. I wish there was a number 1 centre out there somewhere we could lure here or trade for but I don't see it. I don't think Peterson is realistic for us and it's not that I don't think size is a number 1. He is. But contenders seem to have a couple fantastic centremen. Not sure if dach fits that bill or not.

They don't really have to. Laine doesn't really, especially if they don't sign him. Doesn't mean you don't make the trade if it makes sense on some level.

Yes, that's why I'm saying the one you are looking for we already have. That's Nick. Realistically, you won't be getting a PPG center at 30 unless he's your franchise #1 center, which is what Nick will be when his deal ends. Usually teams extend them and don't let go of their contracts for futures.

It would have been easier getting PLD or just keeping Monahan eh.
