HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread #89: 2024-2025 season part II

Even if TabarDach remains an unknown, with the quality prospects we have coming up, if another team is giving us any significant value, I'd move his ass out. He just showed for a half a season that he isn't any better than PLD professionally, and is still unable to produce consistently, with the worst face-offs skills of all our centers.

If Beck only shows up marginally better, he'll get his spot, so if we can move early, we should.
you're comparing missing a full season to injury and taking 35 games to readjust to the pace of an NHL game to PLD giving up on his teams to force a trade?

I also pitched signing Strome to a 1 year 3.6m AAV deal the summer we got Dach and the Blackhawks were liquidating. Posters said he is too slow, stay away...

But in fairness, there are perhaps just as many bad signings and trades I've been in favor of :sarcasm:
Oh man too many to count for me too. I just like getting on the megaphone when I was right though ;)

I think currently and the next few games are a bit of a test for the younger d group to see how they do without Savard.

They've looked good and if they continue, I think the Habs have to move on from him and Dvorak for now.

And for now that's only to Savard. I'm starting to think they might trade him, even for a lesser amount than Hughes might have in mind just so the young players play and if you have a trade to make the dcore better, you now have a better understanding of which player you can see being here long-term and which player you feel comfortable with moving on from.

Dvorak has comeback and has gotten his FO% back up, but you can find a much cheaper, possibly more useful player.

Armia and Evans are if they can reach a deal.

Armia is taking a paycut and likely 1 year.

Evans id say around 4 years for 3 mill +.5/-.25
I feel like if this was realistic it would be done by now. Seems to me like he may be pricing himself out of that range and that's why we're hearing reports about Hughes pumping the breaks on it and saying he needs to compromise a bit.

And yeah, knowing the NHL he probably would get more on the open market. But I also think it'd be a mistake to pay him what he'd get on the open market. So it's an interesting situation.

Pettersson said Miller is hot headed... lol. Choose your words better bud.

He definitely is though. You can just tell that the guy is not a pleasant guy to play with. He seems intense and very heart-on-his-sleeve.

Good player and sometimes players need that edge to be the best. I know there are a ton of baseball players that are the same way (pitchers especially). Doesn't mean it's pleasant to be around.

Us fans can talk about it but Pettersson to the media and a video like that? Very interested to see how the Canucks situation unfolds. They are slipping fast

Yeah imagine if like Caufield and Suzuki hated each other (extremely hard to do because they're pretty much a couple) and it was obvious/they took shots at each other in the media. It would suck.

I don't envy them.

Man... we had it with Subban/Patch/Gallagher. Traded Subban before his NMC and it seems similar with Pettersson and his looming NMC.

I bet they have been trying to move Miller for more than a month because he is older and signed till later. But his NMC is probably a massive issue in terms of getting the value they want which is why they are listening to Pettersson offers.... might get both a C and D for him.

Chances both stay? Not sure

OK you guys.... who took this????

Couple could also get a divorce.

I'd swing even higher and make a play for Dobson. Let's go all in!

Mailloux/Struble
Kapanen
2 x 2025 1st round picks - no protection

for Dobson

Trade Savard right now for whatever we can get. Keep Matheson until the summer when we need to resign Dobson and Slaf's contract kicks in. Trade Matheson in summer or next TDL.

Ride this season out with....

Hutson - Matheson
Guhle - Dobson
Xhekaj - Carrier
Struble/Mailloux

Next year move Dobson up to first line and slide Reinbacher somewhere into this lineup

Next year....

Hutson - Dobson
Guhle - Reinbacher
Xhekaj - Carrier
If Dobson is available and he team feels he's what is required for the team to be legit, he's the guy you go for, no one else is close

That return though gets you a no reply

If we trade for Dobson the returns starts with Reinbacher and you add

Okay...let's try this.

Reinbacher
better of our 1sts
Roy

for Dobson

Hutson - Dobson
Guhle - Carrier
Xhekaj - Mailloux

I want Rasmus. Our 1st, Mailloux and Roy if he wants to sign with us long term. If he doesn't, no trade.

What does that contract look like? 7 or 8 years at what AAV? Age 30-36/37.

I do agree he fits our needs though. Just curious to know if he wants to be in Montreal and what kind of AAV he is after.

I'd try to use Newhook in the package deal to give them a proven NHL piece. Newhook, our 1st, Mailloux and keep Roy to replace Newhook

He would complete our D core nicely. Not concerned about the AAV or term. He's 28 and should be good for the majority of any contract. Hutson-Anderson, Guhle-Carrier would be a very good top 4 for the next 5-6 years. Sure, Newhook instead of Roy. I bet they would rather have that, but we could also give them the choice. I just want it done.

I through out Calgary's 1st and Mailloux + Roy on the main board and they didn't like it much. Stupid Calgary fans! lol
They would be lucky to get a package like that. Here on HFboards, everyone hates everyone else's prospects unless they are top tier blue chip lol. I think we are overpaying, but I also know it likely gets it done.

I posted a trade proposal thread for Andersson on the main boards. Habs 1st, Newhook, and Mailloux and a possible 2nd rounder.

Lets see what the shit show brings on the main boards. haha
