I'd do Dach for Kakko. Kakko is going to be 24 and he won't get any crazy offers from anyone. We get someone who is used to work and most likely does not expect top line minutes. That's important with Demidov coming up.

Yea, HOW DARE HE not enjoying being spit on by random people on the internet?!

While we're at it, Eklund said that Matheson is a hot commodity and 8!, yes 8! club are interested
Nashville, Islanders, Ottawa, Detroit, LA, Utah, and Seattle and Florida...
Sevaralli posted a list this morning/yesterday of the "top" trade targets (it was posted in this thread). Matheson was #13. It's probably the origin of crap like that.

And Sevaralli's list is probably BS. I mean, Jiricek was supposed to be traded 24 hours ago by now.

No one cares
Do you mean in future seasons or this one?

Having Suzuki and three 4Cs is a big contributor to how poorly this team has performed. A lot of what people have blamed on young defenceman or a “bad” system is a symptom of being extremely weak in the middle of the ice.

Evans isn’t struggling by his own standards but there’s absolutely no way he should be anywhere near the top-6. Dvorak is hardly an NHL player most nights and is on our third line. Dach has been ineffective no matter where he’s played. Condotta isn’t an NHL player. There are maybe five other NHL teams with comparable or worse center lines.

I have more faith in Guhle/Matheson and Savard at RD than whatever we’re trying to pass off as capable centers this season. I’d rather Savard and Hutson on the second pairing than Evans/Dvorak on the second line.

Medium/long term though? Yeah, we need some better options for two-way RD.
I think we should be best friends because we are seeing the same thing. I smiled from ear to ear reading this, it's so obvious but many continue to cite a rookie coach and "green" D group as the reason we struggle so badly.

I believe that a trade needs to be made to make us stronger in the middle and not be talking about Beck and other prospects because as you know, it might take 3-4 years before he or any other prospect can excel at the NHL level.

It seems like kakko's name has perpetually been talked about on the trade block for years.
Kakko will only be traded when the rangers are certain he will amount to nothing. At that point he will be moved for a bag of pucks and the fans of the receiving team will get drunk on false hope that he still has something in the tank

High picks who didn't live up to their promises with the team that drafted them are always "on the trade block". It make sense for the other GM to kick the tires on them often, since they could get a (former) highly touted prospect for cheap.

That said, I'm not sure how Gorton feel about doubling down on Kakko...
