No. My offer would be Calgary/Florida 1st and Struble.
I read that Jiricek is not even an upgrade on Barron. I don't know what to believe anymore.

It’s time to bring Romanov back home.
Nah man... get a first. then get a first for Savard and first for Dvorak. 5 first round picks coming up this draft. DO IT, Hughes!!!!

... and yeah, i'd love to bring Romy back home.

Even if that were true right now, and it likely is, Jiricek is 3 years younger and has already shown more at the NHL level. I wouldn't be trading for him to play on the Habs. He would be AHL bound.

Its not an uncontroversial take to prefer Jiricek, but please explain how Jiricek has shown more at the NHL, even at the same age.

just says Nashville and NYI could be interested, a nothing burger but I thought I would post it anyway.
If you are trading with Nashville you want Svechkov who could step in and play with Demidov as second line center as soon as next year....L'Heureux for grit.

According to insider Pierre LeBrun, the Canadiens were not only one of several teams interested in Necas, but they were also one of two favorites along with Columbus to conclude a trade, among the 28 teams that expressed their interest.

Most Jackets fans say Jiricek has been poor defensively during his NHL stints. That's not to say he can't or won't turn that round at some point but to think Jiricek could step onto the ice for our club and be an upgrade on anyone seems misguided. It would most likely be a "for the future" move.

To start winning. Give the boys a taste of glory. Give the boys a role model.
With almost every other vet I would have agreed with the poster you replying to. However I am fully with you about role model . Crosby is not just any vet , he is a hell of a supplement or confirmation of what attitude and compete and everything else that leads to winning culture should be .
So yes I see especially with kids like demidov and hage coming soon , and young ones like slaf already here

Hughes should’ve pulled the trigger then. Ah well, we got Laine and maybe he’ll be amazing for us.

I think it's probably Carolina who did not pull the trigger. I don't think he was on the market for real Carolina was just looking if there was a fish in the pound and probably wa strying to put pressure on him during the negociation. He is one of the most underrated player on this board along with Lundell.

Well Canes screwed themselves w a 2-yr deal, since they don’t hand out heavy long term deals especially w bonus payouts & Necas will be looking to bank.

Wonder if they turn around and deal Aho next summer….
