Yea let’s get rid of the only player with an ounce of offensive talent on the team. At this point I hope it happens just so these bozos can see just how wrong they were while he lifts a cup in Florida or somewhere as we finish 13th in the East.
To be fair, getting rid of Gaborik was the same concept, he won a cup, -AGAINST US- and you would still do it over again 1000x out of 1000.

He really showed up in these playoffs. MVP for disappearing 😂🤮 but hey we paid him to be a regular season player and disappear in the playoffs. He can disappear for real for all I care.

1. This has to be done, to the extent that Panarin will waive, which will not take up to the last minute end of his curret deal IMO, howev, he may/may not be willing to get out of town NOW.
Tho this past series may help.

2. now NOW NOW NOW
you guys come on board
where the eff were you when I was preaching this the past 2 seasons?
You always right bern they dont listen

However, two league sources said Drury was vocally unhappy about Panarin’s play in the postseason, when he had 16 points in 20 games but not the consistent impact anyone around the Rangers hoped for or needed.
Drury pissed last year after 16 points in 20 games and a trip to the ECF. Wonder how he feels about 2 points in 7 games.

Respectfully my friend, and I thank you for the sentiment, but I cannot accept THAT accolade.
But only because you specified "always".

Always is absolute.
Only God is absolute.
The Lord, as advertised, is kind and merciful.
For He allows us to reap what we sow.

And while we may never achieve perfection.
We may know excellence.
Or, even flawlessness.

best to you, dear friend to us all

Gaborik was a letdown in the playoffs overall, but he was trying. He skated hard, backchecked, made the little plays. Just squeezed his stick a lot in 11-12. Same can be said for another playoff flop, Rick Nash. He at least backchecked and put forth an effort.

Different story with Panarin. He coasted with complete ambivalence.

Gaborik was the bad parts of Kane and Panarin on steroids.

It isn't as easy as saying just get rid of him. That is dumb. You save practically nothing against the cap and you lose a 90 point player who has led the team in scoring for the last 4 years. The only logical option is to hope a team will be willing to take on all or most of his salary for what he brings offensively.

We don't need a new thread for every idea OP has, u know? Specially with the Bread contract situation. We are f***ED ! Unless he waives, which he wont.

You wanna buy out Bread? The cap penalty is pretty much his cap hit!!! It will be 10m + regardless of whenever you buy him out. I don't want to repreat this again.

My favorite part of offseason, the endless barrage of propasals, that aren't even based within the rulebook.

The signing bonus money make the contract buyout proof. Trade Panarin. He controls the cards there with the NMC. Even if Panarin was open to a trade, how many teams will want him? He will get you 80-90 points during the season. Some people here mention Florida? Why would Florida want him? Bill Zito shipped Huberdeau to Calgary because he wanted to change the make up of his team after being swept and embarrassed by TB. Huberdeau wanted a new deal and Florida wanted to no part of that deal. Why would go back to a soft and talented perimeter player? 90% of the Rangers fanbase wanted the bread man. You got him. Enjoy.

In fairness, Panarin was coming off a really good postseason with the Blue Jackets.

IDC what it takes, get rid of him. His attitude and way of being on the ice has affected everyone on this squad. Everyone is following the ways of our highest paid player and overpassing, curling towards the boards, never taking the puck to the f***ing net. Team defense is optional. Fox and Mika will be better for it once this cancer is gone.
