Well, if MTL is in the lottery, there is a chance for McKenna... I think they will be a decent team next year, though, especially with adding Rossi.Value might be there. The interest is not.
Minnesota isn't interested in picks currently.
For Rossi you take a 2026 1st and run even if it's top 10 protected. At the moment Habs could be a bottom 5 team if the wrong player is gone long termWell, if MTL is in the lottery, there is a chance for McKenna... I think they will be a decent team next year, though, especially with adding Rossi.
Don't see MN going for this deal. Pickings get very slim after the top 7-8 picks, and MN is looking to compete now.
If you are from the outside and have no understanding of the situation in MN, sure. The reality is that MN is desperate to;For Rossi you take a 2026 1st and run even if it's top 10 protected.
Save the pearl clutching there bud. Not like I haven't seen you post before and it would suddenly, magically be out of character for you. I don't care what some rando on the internet assumes of my character. What I know of you is that little space around your forum name, which is meaningless. I'll never meet you. So, I give very little credence to your takes on my virtues.Okay so no info, don't know enough about the offer to make an opinion on it then.
No I didn't that's why I asked but good on you for showing your character here, or lack of it buddy.
Usually if one asks a question, it's because they don't know, right?
I have no idea on why you are going here and I also won't speculate but i suggest you ask yourself that question?
Means nothing without knowing where the picks were. In any event they were likely 2025 picks which are not comparable to a 2026 pick. 2026 is far more valuable. Overpay for a small soft centre.it's been reported by wild beat reporters. it's not just a simple fan statement. Also, wild already rejected two 1st for Rossi
I realize that but there is nothing stopping them from trading the 2026 1st in a package for a player who can help now. Habs would never make that offer but if they did it would likely be by far the best offer they get and hard to turn downIf you are from the outside and have no understanding of the situation in MN, sure. The reality is that MN is desperate to;
- win a playoff series, if not two, next season
- sign Kaprizov. He wants to win, and will not be impressed by MN trading their 2nd leading scorer last year for draft picks that may or may not be able to play 4-5 years from now, at a level that is yet TBD.
MN is not a building team. They are a team that is looking to win next year. I have my doubts, but there is some cause for optimism, with talented rookies like Buium, Yurov, Ohgren, and possibly Jiricek in the starting lineup, and most of the 15M cap penalties gone. Trading Rossi for futures is simply not happening, as has been stated numerous times from Wild beat writers close to the situation, and Guerin himself.

If you didn't know, you didn't know. Fine. Beyond that, quit with the oversell and take it down a notch.
I know it's the internet but learn the lesson and take the lesson here.Ask Russo. He's the one that reported it. Didn't name the team. But, I imagine you knew that and were just being snarky and pretending to be coy about it.
lol no. That would be really dumb for Minnesota to do.For Rossi you take a 2026 1st and run even if it's top 10 protected. At the moment Habs could be a bottom 5 team if the wrong player is gone long term
Rossi To MTL
for
16th overall (2025)
MTL 1st r. (2026)
MTL 3rd r. (2025)
Fair Value?
You re the one who offered this,
I know it's the internet but learn the lesson and take the lesson here.
Usually if someone asks a question, heck almost all of the time, it's because they don't know.
Anyways I'm done with this as you are choosing to be combative and defensive, that's your choice.
why was he benched in the playoffs?lol no. That would be really dumb for Minnesota to do.
Who are you talking about? Rossi? He wasn't benched. They stuck him down on the 4th line for some unknown reason. I think the post series excuse was some load of garbage like, 'He was showing chemistry with Trenin and (I can't remember who it was)'. So, Hynes reasons. And even though he was stuck with those two boat anchors, he did still kind of produce.why was he benched in the playoffs?
He wasn't really. We entered the playoffs with 4 forwards that could play center: Eriksson Ek, Rossi, Gaudreau and Hartman. Hartman started on the 4th line, had a good game 1 (he's a good playoff player), so they moved him up, which means somebody had to move down (since we only had 4 centers) and they chose Rossi over the veteran Gaudreau. Then Rossi produced down there in games 3 and 4, and instead of moving him up (like Hartman) they kept him down there under the guise of team benefit that he was producing there.why was he benched in the playoffs?
Was injured basically the last 1.25 months of the season, had a rough first game in the playoffs, Hartman was a playoff beast, and Hynes was too slow to move Rossi up from 4C after he had 3 points in games 3+4.why was he benched in the playoffs?
Hynes is incompetent. That explains most of it.Was injured basically the last 1.25 months of the season, had a rough first game in the playoffs, Hartman was a playoff beast, and Hynes was too slow to move Rossi up from 4C after he had 3 points in games 3+4.
All of those items played a part.
For Rossi you take a 2026 1st and run even if it's top 10 protected. At the moment Habs could be a bottom 5 team if the wrong player is gone long term
Feel like it will just mostly be a lot of Montreal posters saying the don't want to add another small player and Minny fans saying they don't want to trade Rossi but if they do it won't just be for futures
Wild aren't looking for picks when it comes to Rossi. Wild were offered two 1st round picks and turned it down. They are looking for a win now player like a Peterka or Kadri, something Montreal doesn't have. No teams are currently wanting picks for their players, so wild aren't willing to accept picks currently.
Impressive. Post 2’s prediction was proven correct by posts 4 and 14. This has to be a record of some sort.Enough with the shrinkage.
I mean from Perspective, it's been reported wild turned down two 1st round picks. So, it's not a fan thing when it's a factual information.Impressive. Post 2’s prediction was proven correct by posts 4 and 14. This has to be a record of some sort.
A 15oa in 2025 and a 2026 1st(IMO, MTL will be a playoff team next year, so pick will be in late teens or 20's) is an underpay for a 23 yo, 60 pt. C.I realize that but there is nothing stopping them from trading the 2026 1st in a package for a player who can help now. Habs would never make that offer but if they did it would likely be by far the best offer they get and hard to turn down
Ok, then. We'll take that useless 5'8" forward, Cole Caufield off your hands, then?Montreal is not trading for a 5'9 forward and they definitely aren't trading two first round picks for a 5'9 forward.
Yeah, hard pass on Smurf Rossi. Was injured basically the last 1.25 months of the season, had a rough first game in the playoffs, Hartman was a playoff beast, and Hynes was too slow to move Rossi up from 4C after he had 3 points in games 3+4.
All of those items played a part.
Would a Caufield-Rossi-Zuccarello line be the smallest line in the history of the NHL?Ok, then. We'll take that useless 5'8" forward, Cole Caufield off your hands, then?
