lol!

I mean, the Leafs are Cup or bust and were for every single of the 5 seasons he was there. That’s kind of just happens naturally, provided you are doing it right.

Colorado/Dallas should probably be the West final, but it’ll be a 2nd round matchup.
We had the core handed to him and wasn’t able to accomplish anything with it, dispite having an unlimited budget and burning up future assets.

His work with the leafs would have looked magnificent if not for the flat cap.
You mean the same flat cap the rest of the GM’s dealt with? He had a couple top 3 picks fall pinto his lap. He was hardly magnificent. They won one playoff round in his tenure.

Toffoli is interesting given his success with Lindholm. Miller-Boeser, Hoglander-Pettersson, Lindholm-Toffoli, and Joshua-Blueger-Garland are some nice pairings that all have a history of strong play together. Mikheyev would likely have to go back though and that’s a big hit in skating/pressing which is a huge component in our system/play this year.

Boudreau leaves the Canucks out of his top 5 while Simmonds gives a nod to the Leafs. Boudreau really despises the Canucks now doesn't he? lol

They didn’t even make a run, overpaid for the top forwards (I know the cap being flat skewed that) and was given the opportunity and did trade away significant futures each year and yet remained committed to a flawed core. I’m not convinced he did a great job in Toronto.
Only canadian team able to retain their super stars.

The fact that the core lost in game 7s to good teams even in the first round isnt the GMs fault.

Unfortunately, this has not been a great deadline for the Canucks.

Every single one of our rivals got better, some significantly so.

Meanwhile, the East is f***ing toy soldiers in comparison. Florida is going to waltz to another Cup Final.
Sure but keep in mind that for the longest time essentially the only trades made this season were by the Canucks. They’ve brought a lot of bodies in prior to even really thinking of the deadline.

Also very clear why Carolina was the front runner for Guentzel and it wasn’t because of the quality of the package. Dubas was focused on Bunting. Which is hilarious.

Coming out of this deadline with an improved team and Hog, Pod, Willander, Lekk and EP2 still in the organization will be a win. Don't budge on these guys. If you can't get "big" acquisitions with the rest of the pieces you have, don't bother.
