Bingo.

As far as I am concerned, he is not a Shark. He's a guy wearing a Sharks uniform, temporarily. I hope he, and the idiot that traded for him, are gone as soon as possible.

It's kind of funny how mad you are about this. At least you aren't ******** on Hannan anymore lol

Just to clarify, you wanted DW gone before this trade too right?
Because if you just want him gone because of this trade alone, you might as well want players who approved this trade to be gone as well.

Players approving trades? What is this the NBA?

What players who approved this trade?

And yah, I've been pretty much done with him for awhile. He has some great trades, but a whole lot of stupid miss-management and terrible deadline deals.

Hannen will make zero difference in the results of this season. I am absolutely confident of that. We will not make the playoffs because of him (but we could possibly miss them because of him...), we will not win the cup because of him. He's worthless, if anything he's a negative asset.

Yet he remains gainfully employed in the top hockey league in the world. Excuse me if I don't take your opinion as gospel.

Torres is a marginal third liner who has made a career of hurting people. I'm not going to root for that, I don't care how you guys justify it to yourselves.

I don't really feel a need to justify anything to myself. This is professional ice hockey and I'm a fan of the sport and the Sharks. I've got enough going on in the real world - I don't need to get all sanctimonious on a chat board and renounce my love for the team because a guy with a history of bad decisions is now on the Sharks.

You don't have to like the move or even pull for the Sharks as long as Torres is playing for them. But do us all a favor and get down off of your soapbox and stop hammering others for having a differing opinion than your own. Why are you so much smarter than anyone else here??

It seems that of the two extremes - blow it up/rebuild/refresh, and acquire valuable pieces to attempt another run - Wilson was partially successful at each, therefore unsuccessful at both. Looking at the big picture, though, our roster is better now than it was two weeks ago (addition by subtraction) and we have netted a bucket of picks in the process... if I have to deal with possibly as few as 13-17 games of Raffi then so be it. If Jesus Toews descends from the heavens and magically grants us a cup, have fun renouncing it or slapping a * on it in the name of one **** on the bottom lines... I'll be at the parade.

I can guarantee that DW talked to a few players before making this trade (most likely the leaders), especially considering it was a borderline player like Torres. Chia did it with Jagr, Sather did it with Clowe.

Okay. That's fine with me then. Just wanted to clarify.

I did no such thing.

So you can voice your opinion, but I cannot? Do you not see me getting 'hammered' by people like you for my opinion the same as you are accusing me of? Pot -> Kettle.

It's the first time I can recall in recent history that a GM managed to both sell and buy at the same time.

Hell you could argue Torres is a more effective player than Clowe right now as much it pains me to say.

Heard it on TV with Clowe, but there was an article with a video saying Chia talked to Krejci and Chara before acquiring Jagr IIRC.

EDIT: Found the Jagr one

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=663628

Chiarelli said he spoke to Jagr's Czech countryman David Krejci, an Olympic teammate in 2010, and Boston captain Zdeno Chara, a Slovakian who has battled Jagr for years, for their input about Jagr's ability to fit in on the team

Thanks. I assumed we didn't have our own pick like always.

Fair enough.

But anyway, thanks to Jarmo for helping the Rangers' 2nd get as high as possible. Gabby's personal shooting is way below career average and he was due for some regression. Now the Jackets get to reap the rewards instead of the Rangers. :)
