I wonder how expensive Kane would be. Last season he was probably cheap, but this season? :help:

count me in as a guy who would love to see Evander Kane here in Montreal...

If you think he's going to be a distraction and you don't want to acquire him simply for that reason, then that's a direct indictment on the coaching staff and leadership of this team, which means the issues are far bigger.

Coaches and leadership can really only do so much. Is it very surprising that as soon as he starts producing, he's on the block?

They could've signed him in the off season is if they wanted him

Needs change during the season and they change too depending on who is available. We also have more cap space now. I wouldn't be surprised if we were at least talking with Vancouver.

Could have to do with the fact that he's on a team that's in full rebuild and would like valuable assets?

If Teuvo Teravainen is available, I hope MTL puts something together. His IQ and offensive ability are absolutely top notch.

Ott wearing 92 for the Habs...

Because Duchene is coming and wearing 90!

He's a young guy with another year on his contract. I'd assume it's just as likely that they want to move on.

So long as the Habs don't overpay, I'd be interested.

Well MB certainly cleared the space for a contract of up to $6M if we were sending back about $1M. that is Duchene money.

No doubt in my mind that MB has left Sakic an offer for Duchene. That offer likely has not been accepted because it does not include Sergachev. My guess is it's Beaulieu, Scherbak and 2017 1st.

Sakic will wait it out until close to deadline at the very least to see if he gets a better offer or MB ups it to Sergachev. Sakic for sure seems to be playing this cool and he may very well just wait until the off-season to make any big trade. In which case if MB wants Duchene, he will have to blink first as Sakic holds the cards. Who knows though, maybe Sakic has his own pressures to do a deal. Also, if MB buckles, that could hurt him in doing future trades as people will wait him out if he seems a bit desperate. Up to now he is the guy who has taken advantage of desperation. Well, except for the PK trade.

Think it a good chance it will go the wire.
