I am not a fan of trading TT already, still think his game has a lot of potential to grow. Still think he could become a solid top 6 contributor. I see flashes of it once in a while from him. If he does get moved hope it's a package for a more impact forward like Duchene. I'll be bummed if we move him for picks + prospects.

Honestly, shouldn't the Canes be looking at what they can get for anyone? Other than maybe Aho and Slavin?

I said yesterday that TT's name should be floated to see if he could bring back a huge return.

I'm happy to keep him but:
1) He is super cheap Cap-wise
2) He has already performed at a high level in the Playoffs
3) Peters has had some issues with his play and he is a component of the Canes top-9 which lacks size and physicality

The Canes shouldn't trade him unless they get an absolutely steal of a deal. But given the prices and arms race that appears to be happening, I don't think that is impossible.

I think Stempniak goes to a team like Edm, or maybe the Pens.

With Sharp being too injured to be traded, it might mean more demand for a guy like TT or Stempniak. Should be interesting.

I wonder if the Canes put in some waiver claims to offset the losses and injuries rather than calling up guys from the AHL?

I thought about that too. Pick up Crammarosa and Jokipakka instead of calling guys up.

Worth noting with Lavoie (who mentioned TT) that I see no other random speculation or click bait on his twitter. If he said it, seems legit that the Canes are actually listening to offers.

TT is generally a disappointing player to me, and is about to get a raise to boot. It's worth seeing if anyone is interested but I doubt we're getting a kings ransom from it unless we turn it into a package. Could be a money saving move to trade him.

I think Teravainen has shown some good things this year, but also some things to work on. I'm not a fan of giving up on him, but as with anything, it'd depend on what we would get for him. I've wondered if they might try and move him at some point for someone that's a better fit. I don't think we'd get anything that great for him, and I'd rather keep him and hope he continues to progress. I'm not really worried about whatever likely small raise he's going to get.

I don't think its a good idea to trade Aho's roommate.

In all seriousness, i'm not sure they can get a whole lot for TT, so i'd rather keep him. I've watched enough Chicago games to know the kid has some serious skill, which we've seen, just not enough here.

One thing someone else mentioned is the smurfiness we've got going on this season in the forwards. Aho, Lindy, Skinner, TT all play a lot of minutes on the wings. Of those guys, if you wanted to change it up TT would be the choice.

A lot less "smurfiness" from Lindy this year though, but in general, your point is valid. Guys like Aho and McGinn aren't very big, but play bigger than they are. Guys like TT aren't very big, and play smaller than they are.

Lindholm's not that small, and definitely doesn't play small, but agreed with the overall point there.

TT to me has the potential to become a Jokinen type player for us. But I think Francis would be dumb to not see what's out there for him right now. If there's an offer that blows him away then take it, and that includes being able to use him with Fleury in a deal for a guy like Duchene.

According to the talk radio in Tampa, Drouin could be available for the right price. Given their cap issues, how about TT, Fleury and two of our 2nds this year. Gets us a 1st line forward and gives Tampa multiple, good cost controlled assets

This was exactly the type of deal that came to mind for me when I started thinking about it, Dave. Can a prospect D + TT return Duchene, maybe with a draft pick as well? If so, then I think it makes sense to take a chance when Duchene is available.

Would be fine with Drouin too, though crazy enough preference on Duchene because of the position. But Drouin would represent an immediate upgrade at the position for us.

What about Ward and TT for MAF & some B prospect?

WAY too much from us considering it looks like Pittsburgh's about to buy out MAF after the season.
