People want to make Conacher into something he's not because he was traded for Bishop. He had a 20 game hot streak playing beside MSL. The rest of his NHL career he has been a fringe NHLer who has a very underwhelming impact on games.

If we signed Conacher out of college or traded a mid-round pick for him there wouldn't be any outrage for putting him on waivers. The loss of Cory won't affect this team in any significant way.

I've been saying for awhile Murray should have traded him awhile ago when he still was living off his early season MSL hype. It was easy to see this kid was going to be passed on the depth chart soon enough by bigger and more talented players in Binghamton. Should have dealt him when he had value.

Vanek isn't going to make that much of a difference in Montreal. He's strictly a rental and will be walking to Minnesota in the off-season. This trade doesn't make them cup contenders. They'll still be pushed around and bullied in the playoffs like we did to them. Their team is even softer than our squads that would get bullied by the leafs in the playoffs.

Majority of those players were on that team that we bullied King. Quite a few of them got destroyed in the brawl in game 3 as well.

True, but those matchups were a bit messed up. Neil is tough and a better fighter than Moen. Cowen is tougher than White but that size advantage. White had a good fight with Zack Smith in january of that same year and it was much closer. Kass went after Armstrong and Tinordi, who is better at fighting now, maybe edged out Phillips.

Put in Murray or Parros, and Prust, and the brawl would not have looked so one sided I think.

But all credit for the sens and what they managed to do in that series. They beat them on the board and in the alley that spring.

Well yeah you ask for the guys you want. I'm sure he wasn't expecting that and would have settled for less. Not too upset we didn't get Stewart. Would have rather had moulson over hemsky. BM said he told TM they couldn't do moulson.
