Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I’d rather we go after Zegras if we want a smallish, soft C. More upside and we aren’t letting our rivals off the hook. Either way, I don’t see it happening unless we move Rossi.

Anyone listing the Wild in trade rumors has to be lying. There’s no way to make the money work without trading a similar amount of cap back.
Edit: Forgot about Kap’s LTIR situation. I think that’s the only way this is even remotely feasible is if they try to extend that to the playoffs.

I'd take Mittelstadt on this team, if we can get him cheaply enough. Terrible on FO's, but like his skill. Good hands, which are in short supply on this team. Sort of the anti JEE.
I would assume that CO would want help now rather than later, so have no clue who to send the other way. Rossi is a no go, of course. Same with Boldy, JEE. Zucc has NMC.
Ohgren and Marat might get it done, but the cash doesn't work, and i wouldn't want to lose both anyway, as i think that there is decent upside there. One of those and Trenin, maybe? Maybe Chisholm, though again, he doesn't make much, and won't take much of a bite out of Mittelstadt's cap.

To me, it would be something that we basically acquire him for nothing (retention?) and stick him on the wing. He can’t be worse than Johansson. The issue will be the cap.

Mitts isnt small and isn't soft. He can skate, has a strong release but his playmaking and IQ are where he really excels.

Assuming it has to be pretty close to dollar in-dollar out, our closest salaries:
Brodin $250k difference (hopefully not)
Eriksson Ek $500k difference (hopefully not)
Boldy $1.25M difference (hopefully not)
Middleton & Zucc ~$1.65M difference (hopefully not)
Foligno & Hartman $1.75M difference (doubt Foligno, maybe Hartman)
I think Colorado would want more than Hartman, even if they don't mind his "style", but I don't think we can really do a 2 (or 3) for 1 (to match salaries) and fill out an NHL roster.

I’m aware of his strengths, but he’s not a very competitive player away from the puck and he’s not physical at all.

I don’t think it’s a good fit for a team that already employs Rossi & Khusnutdinov down the middle.
We desperately need a C who can win %'s. That sure as hell isn't Casey. Winning a FO on the Special teams or near the end of close games is critical, assuming that they are in the neutral zone.
Speaking of faceoffs, Brock Nelson has one season in his entire career where he finished above 50%. He is currently over 50% for this year but it has been trending downwards as the season goes along. Doesn't really feel like adding Nelson would improve the faceoff department.
Is Guerin going to make this guy our next Matt Cullen? 3 years, 3C with 3C AAV.
Honestly, Nico Sturm is one of the best FO guys on the planet. I’m not sure if he can play 3C, or, alternatively, if Marat can, but he would be nice to have back and wouldn’t cost too much.
I saw him in downtown Minneapolis a few months ago and the Sharks weren’t in town, so maybe he still has connections in the area and would gladly return.
Didn’t he turn down a medium length contract with the Wild when they were trying to re-sign him?
Sounds vaguely familiar. If we could get a FO/PK guy with some size, that would be awesome.
