Our last win bumped us up to 7.6% playoff odds.

Know hope.

They haven't proven they can put together a streak on the road. I have zero expectation that they can. If they do it, that would be great. But it's an unfair expectation. I'm not in to deluding myself. Will I watch every game and support them? Sure. Do I think they can finish something like 6-0-2? Extremely unlikely, but not impossible.

If Detroit falters down the stretch, maybe we can squeak in with a lesser record. Once again, unlikely, so I'm not going to get my hopes up. There is every reason to show up, support the team, and cheer them on. There is no reason to "hope". I don't need hope to support my team.

It is always brutal for fans and players alike to play out the string at the end of the season after a team has been (or close to being) mathematically eliminated. This has been a regular occurrence for Jackets' fans.

At most, the Jackets will have 1 home game this year (the last one) where that is the case. If the stars all align, maybe they will still have a chance at the playoffs going into that last game. Regardless, I am thankful to be able to see meaningful CBJ hockey this late in the season.

We've grown quite accustomed to having little "hope". It is a nice change, however fleeting.

And in troo fan fashion there is always "next" year.

The Siren of eternal hope calls, this time perhaps with some justification.

Edmonton is fading fast. I think we can put them in our rearview mirror. Dallas has to forge ahead with no Lehtonen. Phoenix - who knows what will happen with them. Things could be breaking in the right direction for the CBJ.

Hear, hear to the bolded. (someone schooled me on that phrase when I typed here, here earlier in the season. Whoever that smart aleck was, he was right)

You're sure right about the road. I'm hoping last night against the Sharks is a spark. I'm hoping Gabby is settling in. The odds are long but I think our team is up for the challenge anyway and is gonna fight til the end. The trades I support even if they destabilized the room for a moment. I'm hoping that moment is past and we see a hungry and newly confident and skilled team.

Next season really is a cause for optimism, and it's terrific to care about these final games even if the odds are long. What a great team, very proud to be a fan

the best part is if we do miss the playoffs, it seems the spirits around here are high about how the future of this team is taking shape... no high too high, no low too low...etc...

I'm now optimistic we can compete for a playoff spot next season. Now what the front office needs to do is help us take the next step. Be an expected playoff team, one of the top 5 teams in the East.

As far as this year, we've got the "easy" part of our schedule coming up between now and Monday. After that, we're on the West coast. Maybe the gradual progression out west will help them acclimate quicker.

Man we really need Dubinsky in the lineup. On a side note, this MacKenzie, Gillies, Comeau thing really isn't working for me. Who would have thought I would really want Boll back in the lineup?

I'm optimistic as well. If we don't make the playoffs this season, we'll look back at this season as a "table setter." I think the culture has changed now, they have an identity as a hard working team, that forechecks like crazy and never quits. We haven't been able to say that for the past 10 years (save for the playoff year). I'm confident that we have competent management that will make the right moves and bring in the right players. I really think that one target in the offseason is going to be a top six left winger to complement Anisimov and Gaborik. Things are about to get interesting for Jackets fans.

The organization is seriously lacking in wingers ever since we moved voracek and then nash. And we really dont have any in the works who could be game changers. All our hopes for wingers are in Atkinson and Calvert. We need to restock the winger cabinet this draft(Shinkaruk!)

I'm not so worried about the playoffs. I just want to leave as many Western Conference teams with a loss the last time they played us as a conference opponent.
