Post-Game Talk: Tough Decisions- LA Kings Off-Season

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.

Here's your list of center options come July 1:

Scott Laughton
Claude Giroux
Boone Jenner
Adam Henrique
Nick Cousins
Kevin Hayes
Jack Roslovic
Noel Acciari
Lars Eller
Calle Jarnkrok
Kevin Stenlund
Gustav Nyquist
Colton Sissons
Alex Kerfoot
Kasperi Kapanen
Luke Glendening
Oskar Sundqvist
Tyson Jost
Teddy Blueger

Lot of fourth line fodder, but the Kings have that spot already occupied with Samuel Helenius, and they desperately need two centers this offseason.

They're also royally f***ed if Byfield continues to perform like he normally does.
I have an awful feeling it's gonna be Alex Kerfoot or Gustav Nyquist.

With Clarke trapped behind Doughty & Ceci, what center are we trading him for?

Alternatively, Every delayed penalty, Clarke crashes the crease. With instincts like that, should we just move Clarke to center?

I have zero info on this but...

people keep saying "they have to" and... uh... they don't.

They "have to" if they want to achieve some of the goals that some people imagine they must achieve but the reality is all they "have to do" is pay the people they have contracts with and I'm not ever sure I know what the penalty would be if they DIDN'T do that.

I don't think whatever happens will be for lack of effort or desire... I just think sometimes your options are what they are and you just do what you can. In this case I think their options are incredibly limited.
I agree. My “they have to” is very much driven by hope and not expectation.
