Post-Game Talk: Tough Decisions- LA Kings Off-Season

I don't think they have many choices.
They cant go into the season with that defense. The forwards arent great but the defense is going to be a huge liability under Laviolette. They dont have the speed or puck moving abilities and they will get exposed when the forwards arent supporting as much coming back into their own zone. Guys will be open in the slot all night.

Sure they can.

Every player but Clarke is under contract.

I agree that it's not ideal... but until someone explains to me exactly HOW it's going to change I'm not listening.

I do, because they have limited assets to expend in order to address said D.

Also, Kenny “didn’t do anything wrong”, remember?
There are absolutely opportunities to "improve" the team for Holland. They're in the clearance bin.

& Just because Holland batted 1,000 last season doesn't mean he can't do it again this season!

Get cooking Kenny!

I’m just saying IF Holland is to make a deal for Nurse I hope one of those three is included.

If he picks up Nurse, a D has to go out in that deal or shipped out in another deal. For roster room and salary constraints.
Don't worry, Pit & Philly likely outbid us on Nurse.
:(

and I'm saying "how"?
Oh you are asking me to play GM?

I would assume Dumoullin and any combination of 3rd round pick and/or a B or C rated prospect with Oilers retaining some salary.

Or Kings could jettison Ceci or Dumoullin another way - and trade Kuemper straight up for Nurse with Oilers picking up 2 million.

Nurse shoots Left so sadly Dumoullin has to go, not Ceci. Kings can't take back the entire salary and have room to re-sign Clarke and add a 1 or 2C, so Oilers need to retain, which is what most pundits are saying they might have to do. I would not move Edmundson and I know the Kings really like him. Anderson should not be going anywhere...

Oilers need a goalie still...

No Kings trades yet?

You know what would be funny? If Holland tricked everyone & brought the same roster back for next season.

Only thing worse than Nurse or Dumoulin & Ceci.
