Torts Told Cam York not to re-sign

Seems like Torts was doing everything in his power to force the issue. The fallout has to be a cautionary tale for whichever organization hires him next. That's assuming his coaching career isn't over...

probly sound advice tbh
Not at all cause it's not under York's control. He is RFA it's up to the team. If the Flyers qualify him then they still own his right so at this point his only option would be to accept an offer sheet which the Flyers could match. So no that was terrible advice but obviously the Tort Defense Army (TDA) will try to paint this as genius.

This is the problem with torts is that he has never adapted his coaching style that's why no team looking to contend has hired him in a long ass time

I also find it interesting if we assume this is true because York is 2nd on the team in TOI. Maybe Flyers fans can comment on this.

Further to that...is there anything special with Cam York that I am missing? I've seen maybe half a dozen Flyers games this year which may not tell the whole story.

York's response was purportedly something to the effect of "I'll be here long after you're gone," which, good job predicting the future, he's got a very successful career in meteorology waiting if he ever gets tired of this hockey thing.
Yeah that’s not really going out on a ledge considering your average NHL head coach has a lifespan of 2 years

1) You’re in the room? You know every single NHLer? Whoa.
2) If you feel that way, why are you watching?

Just a yelling at clouds post. We get it, you hate the modern world you’ve helped create, everyone else is soft and you clearly aren’t.

Anyways, if Torts said that it kinda crosses a line for me- getting into my career and saying I should move is personal, and if it was public that’s so much worse.

Weird

Taking everything the spitting chiclets guys put out with a massive grain of salt ...

Unprofessional from Torts and if I was York I would take him up on the offer!

That move would make not drafting Buium even more puzzling.

Torts is s "soft" Mike Keenan. They don't make bullies like they used to.
Times have changed for sure. I was happy they passed on Buium. They liked Jett when he was rated 27. So when he started to shoot up the 1st round and knowing there was a team right behind them who were going to take him they made their move. Also center is a need for this team and Jett will be a solid 2C.
