Torts on ESPN Radio 98.7 at 4PM

This drives me nuts on here people are so opinionated and nasty to other posters yet they have no idea miller was injured and couldn't play.. Watch the team then have a opinion that is all

I think Torts hands were ties this season. He had a 48 game
Season and could not afford to
Be patient with players like Krieder and allow them to develope. If they got out to a better start then maybe he could buy that was not the case.

Yeah, that's exactly how this all played out. Here is, in my opinion, a more accurate representation of this thread:

You claimed that the Rangers were "outplayed" by the Bruins only because Tortorella refused to play "bigger" players such as "Kreider." I pointed out that the Bruins completely shut down the best offensive team in hockey and specifically Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, who are far superior players to 95% of the NHL, let alone Chris Kreider. You then countered this by exclaiming that, because I don't believe that Chris Kreider would have done anything that Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin were not able to do, I therefore am a "Torts lover."

I'm not even going to address the rest of your crap because:

1) It's very clear you have inherent biases; probably in part because you're still holding a grudge over Tortorella supposedly forcing Marc Staal to not sign autographs for you or whatever.

and

2) I'm not going to waste my time attempting to decipher what the hell you are trying to (probably irrationally and without factual evidence) argue because it is written in such a ridiculously incoherent manner. It hurts my head trying to figure out what the hell half of your fragmented sentences even mean.

Not taking sides here, but does this help? That's a personal attack and not very useful.

To be fair, Miller was sent home to rehab his wrist not too long into the playoffs
Exactly. We all know if Miller was helathy he would have been playing especially since Clowe was hurt. Im not making excuses for kreider because he did have a tough year. However i do think Torts should have let him learn form a small mistake or 2 like he did for miller instead of benching him. The good news ia that in the last few games of the Bruins series kreider was starting to put it all together. he scored the OT goal and in Game 5 he was knocking people on their ass, using his speed and getting to teh net. im very excited to see kreider this year with the new coach

I'm actually really content with personal attacks at this point. Eating a peppered bacon turkey sandwich and an iced green tea. The link would be great though. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night missing Torts's voice.

Does anyone have any new AV interviews? I'd reckon he would be a popular candidate for talk shows.

I don't know if there's anything left to say on Torts. He's gone, for better or worse. Time to move on.

:handclap: I agree 100%. Its funny most wanted him gone when he was here now that he is gone people seem to miss him lol

I think you're really forgetting how absolutely awful and how big of a liability Miller was when he had to play something that resembled defense. I think that's what people's qualm is with how Kreider was handled; not that Kreider wasn't given a fair shake (he was more than given the chance to succeed and was still unreliable), but that Miller was just as bad as or worse than Kreider, yet was given "benefit of the doubt" so to speak and wasn't benched or sent down until after a couple dozen more defensive lapses and general brain farts than Kreider was responsible for. Tortorella clearly did have something against Kreider and/or the way he played, whether he comes out and says it or not, otherwise we would have seen Kreider out there just as much as Miller which wasn't the case.

Or maybe, just maybe he had higher/bigger expectations for Kreider, and therefore demand more from him than for Miller?

If he's dumping on Kreider I guess that's his prerogative. But it's a bit lame remarking about a kid just beginning his career. What's more interesting to me is what he may or may not have said about his guy Brad Richards who **** the bed for most of the season and the entire playoffs. If he wants to talk about his former team he should start there and maybe he could explain why Richards sitting out two elimination games was or wasn't his decision. Unless he's willing to do that he should just shut the **** up. And not to get me wrong I didn't have it in for Tortorella's hide this year. He did a great job last year and this year's circumstances were a lot more difficult especially considering the lack of depth throughout the lineup that his GM left him. Even so he made his own share of mistakes. Before pointing the finger he should acknowledge them.

Great post. Couldn't agree more.

Sources say Glen Gulutzan and the Canucks are working on the details of his agreement to work as an assistant to John Tortorella.

Tortorella, Sullivan and Gulutzan will call the shots from the Canucks bench next season. Interesting, Torts added another assistant.

NOW he takes on another assistant?!

So your a torts lover? Defend him all you want the team regressed under him

Untrue, in his tenure the team became better. Whether or not he should get credit for that and how much is up to the individual fan. I think he was the right guy for a couple of years to bring the team to a competitive plateau and then a change was prob needed. Not unprecedented in pro sports, looking forward to see what AV does.

You don't have to like him but he was the best coach this team has had since Roger Neilson! We'll see how great the wonderful AV (loser of 10 of his last 11 playoff games) does here with us!

You are nuts .. Doctor Tom did so much more for this franchise then torts ever did.

With a franchise as pitiful as ours, and with Torts being the best coach we've had in awhile, every guy down the line will be weighed against him until someone takes us to the Finals.

Torts, like Sean Avery, will just never die.

As a bystander/reader, this sounds pretty accurate to me.
