Now you have an understanding of how sample sizes work. Say thanks.

I'm on the other side, if Lemaire wasn't an option, why is BabcockI'm with most.. I want a recount for Babcock.lol
Totally agree he shouldn't have been an option. Where is Keenan?I'm on the other side, if Lemaire wasn't an option, why is Babcock
Keenan, Bozo Tom Rowe while we're at it.Totally agree he shouldn't have been an option. Where is Keenan?
You had a chance to learn somethin or provide a counterpoint- you went with the option of people not worth discussing things with.
Some of you really want an angry father figure to yell at you, shit is weird.
He's saying polls, the polls you see don't poll much of the total sample size. For a poll, 10% is more than most. In this respect, he's teaching you something significant about polls. Take that as you will.Arguing with someone stating that 10% of a poll should be something of note isn't going to help. I'm not going to agree no matter what situation he believes dictates that.
No clue what that has to do with my dad or your failed attempt at psychological projection. Really good analysis based on a post.
They're mistaken in the figure. Only 65 players answered that question. So not a huge chunk of the league at all.According to this article Torts is the coach players would least likely want to play for, and it's not even close between him and the next coach on the list.
NHL Players Take a Shot at John Tortorella and Mike Babcock in Recent Player Poll
Every season, the Athletic releases polls where they survey NHL players asking them various questions about the state of the league. Typically, we get a couple of polls like this every year.www.yardbarker.com
Only 65 answered that question.
They likely were not given a list. So at least some of them may not have considered Babcock a valid answer since he is not a coach right now.impressive to beat babcock lol

Still not sure you get polls and the usual sample sizes. We can say polls are bs, but that's a large sample size. They're mistaken in the figure. Only 65 players answered that question. So not a huge chunk of the league at all.

I guess you know this wasn't random.Nah, I'm not sure you get polls. The proportion of the population you need to sample is dependent on the size of the population being sampled. So saying 10% is big is not a universal truth. And.... most importantly, it needs to be a random sample. The big pollsters usually do a stratified random sample, but they still go to great lengths to try to ensure it is random. Selection bias is the biggest issues for pollsters. I'll let you decide if there could be some selection bias here.
He got wind that Modano would hit 1,500 career games on the last game of the regular season, which was the last of his career. So he scratched him the second to last game. Just because.TSN did an entire running list of the stuff Babcock has done. The list was wild
It is certifiably insane
Like Jeff O’Neill and McLennan and Ferraro etc etc talked about coaches berating the hell of them at a practice.
But the respect was their off the ice
Babcock………….. this guy wanted to break you down mentally. He wanted dirt on you, he wanted to know what was inportant to you, to dangle it like a carrot in front of you, and use it as blackmail.

YepI guess you know this wasn't random.
In sum, stats aren't taught well. Let's get rid of the DOE.He explained how star sampling works, you just wanna ignore info that doesn’t fit your worldview. Which is your choice, I’m just gonna label it more accurately.
And I spoke in general and said “father figure”, not talking about yours or anyone else’s dad. That’s how I see it, feel free to disagree, but it’s weird to me how eager some posters are to defend the hardass even pro players often dislike.
Well, as an insider, do better next time
