Why the Yotes do this?
I mean... they can probably get a very similar player to Mitchell on the waiver wire. Hell, they can probably get Brian Flynn that way, and while Mitchell is better than Flynn, the gap between them isn't a 3rd rounder.
For all the apparent work Bergevin has been putting into our bottom 6, it's a mess, Mitchell is one of our few bright spots. A 3rd may be overpayment but I'd prefer to keep Mitchell.
