I think it will be fine. Raddysh will walk into a great powerplay in Toronto and get a pile of points. He is also underrated defensively. Even if he gets $8 million per year, that will basically be second-pairing defenseman comp within a couple of years.
He's never signing for $8m AAV. This is Raddysh's one and only opportunity to cash out in the NHL, there is 0% chance he doesn't take the higheat amount he can possibly get.

I don't think this is a complete surprise but I also doubt Dreger is actually reporting anything substantive. These guys have had absolutely nothing on the front office lately.

I'm not terribly concerned about a Raddysh contract. There's so much cap growth that I think it's going to pay to take risks rather than holding onto your cap space for the perfect deal. Yes, this past year was obviously a crazy outlier, but he's been a legit top 4 defenseman for three years.

...ummm, he averaged just over 17 minutes per in 24-25...is that Top 4??... :dunno:

If he gives 55-60 points with solid defence I can live with that at around 8-8.5M

I doubt I go over that, nor do I think he gets offered much more than that. He’s only been a #1 D for 1 year, it’s not enough of a sample to warrant 10M+ IMO

It will have to be 8+ for 5-7 years for him to price out of Tampa. Anything under 8m, Tampa offers that contract too. So either overpay or he stays.

Took advantage of Hedman being out and the opportunity playing with Kucherov on the PP. Big risk to sign him to big money thinking he'll replicate those numbers in Toronto.

He’d be playing with a combination of Matthew’s, Nylander, Knies, Tavares and Mckenna in Toronto. Not exactly a horrible set of players…

Agreed.. he’s definately going to the highest bidder.. doesn’t matter if it’s TO, SJ, WPG, Van, Preds, whoever .. him and his agent will be doing everything in their power to have a bidding war

I think $8 million will be the highest amount he will get. Every team is going to have the same trepidation that Tampa has. I think there will be a lineup of teams offering him $6.5-$7 million, and maybe one or two that go above that, and he will sign with the Leafs for probably less than the top offer because he apparently wants to play in Toronto. Maybe it's another Leafs jammies situation.

Tampa will just re sign him very easily if he’s only going to make that that much.. actually Tampa will sign him for cheaper but technically will be the same cause of the tax free state

13 Million for 8 years because it's the Leafs they won't pay Marner but will pay Raddysh.
lol they offered Marner 13 and he just wanted to leave because some people were mean to him and called him out for his lack of playoff production. But keep being you.

...besides the normal Toronto shills believing that EVERYONE wants to play in Toronto, has anyone actually reported this??... :dunno:

It’s been speculated a ton. But the fact that he was a huge Leaf fan, grew up in Caledon and his family are Leafs season ticket holders for generations are all good indications that it’s a plausible scenario.

Wait.....he was basically a career AHLer up until 3 years ago. Has played 3 full season in the NHL and exploded last year for 70 points at 29/30 years old.

Late bloomer or merely squeezed out of a deep Tampa team until he was 27 years old?

Im not buying it.

I hope with high hopes that the Leads sign this guy for 9 million for 7 years.

I doubt it. I think Tampa has made it pretty clear, if that reported initial offer is accurate, that he isn't a high priority for them, and they would know best whether he is worth $7 million or more per season. I'd guess that they have probably concluded that it is better to allocate their money elsewhere.
