cant see why capitals would be interested in this. Grubauer is a very good backup for cup hunt next season and both pieces coming back at us are pretty close to nothing.

Just wait until his contract runs out and you can get him free :)

galiev to the AHL?

in order to do so he has to clear waivers and besides right now, grubauer > enroth

while enroth was putting up horrible numbers in buffalo and dallas, grubauer was putting up great numbers in the ahl. one year of an average enroth does not replace grubauer

We want a veteran goalie I'm guessing. Someone with some more experience than Grubauer.

Regardless, we probably aren't going to be paying picks for anyone when we can get Enroth for free. If we trade for someone, it's to either get rid of some unwanted contracts, to get a pick or prospect on top of it, to shed some salary, or a mixture of any of them.

get a pick + froese

And what is Washington supposed to do with froese? He certainly wouldn't be playing on the caps, and they are already stacked in ahl with centers who have played already in nhl with chandler Stephenson, rising star Travis Boyd, zach sill had a career year and an amazing playoffs, so where does the center froese go?

What's the point of these threads? What are you accomplishing? This is a nothing deal that would be an afterthought to both teams even if it was fairly balanced, there's no real discussion to be had about it. Leafs will sign a vet backup and be done with it, why complicate things.

Wrong.

Could trade for a backup.

those are projected lines right now for hershey, the first line isnt changing. thats where the top prospects are. second line you have travis boys who put up 21 goals and 32 assists last year centering nathan walker (17g 21a) and chris bourqe (30g 50a). third line you zach zill (9g 13a) centering ryan bourque (11g, 19a) and paul carey (13g,18a)
then you have the big dudes on the 4th line

so where does froese and his 2 goals and 3 assists in 56 games for the leafs go?

Wrong.

Could trade for a backup.

Doubt it'll be this deal though. Or Grubauer in general.

There are literally 10+ goalies on the market and we could get for next to nothing yet you pick a goalie who isn't.

froese is a cap dump.

froese is a cap dump.

so your saying a young good goalie is only worth a 4th and a cap dump and that washington should just give him up for nothing and pay more for another goalie to do the same exact thing that grubauer does?
