You have to realise it's not just about last night. It's the same pattern over 9 years with this core.

They can be suffocated by relentless pressure. If you shut down Matthews and Marner, JT and Willy can only do so much.

The coach, Knies, everyone said their lack of compete was garbage. Same old song and dance for these guys.

Especially with Florida who has had their number. Not that many teams outside of Montreal match up well with them.

Add to it Berube's style of play allows Florida to constantly have the puck and come in waves.

The stupid stretch pass doesn't work and the big 4 don't pursue or forecheck all that well so when the D use the glass to get it out, it's reallly just a turnover

I think people are ascribing far too much to a single game. They beat that same Florida team a week earlier. I would argue both of those games really don't mean anything at all.
