Just to be clear, you are saying you have never heard the term "apres ski" in your life until Hayes said it today?

I mean, yeah, that is a pretty common term... widely used... like, world wide.

They guys use it liberally and and often incorrectly lol

Never heard it before in my life, but I don’t ski, so why would I have.

The thing is, he hasn't lost his fastball He's still one of the best in the business. He's sharp as a tack. I could never do that job. He just needs to shut the f up and call the plays and stop with the stories, jokes, tired analogies and puns. And for the record, I prefer a homer for Leafs broadcasts. He'd be perfect if he could ever stop being a caricature of himself.

Edit: Jim Ralph on the other hand makes me smile every time, He sounds like a drunk Dick Van Dyke and I always wonder if he's sidestepping or tripping over the ottoman.
I think he’s a lost quite a few steps, but that happens to everyone. I listened to the game on the radio while working on some yard projects and I really didn’t know where the puck was half the time.

Every other team in the NHL gets a Homer to do their local market TV games. RSN and TSN only put on the neutral national guys on TV because theyre lazy.... Or in RSN case overcompensate and we have a bias against the Leafs on a Leafs home broadcast. It's infuriating

Joe Bowen is the ONLY person who calls games that is an actual Leaf fan. And as a Leaf fan that's what I want and I don't care If he screws up a couple of time or is bias. And to be fair for Road Games he is forced to call the game off of the TV broadcast which is difficult

Facts.. the over-compensation for the perceived worries of non-Leaf markets is sooo tired. Get a homer and get over it. People hate-watching shouldn’t be catered to, anyway.
Amazon gon' take that money if they don't wise up.
The guy doing play by play of the HNIC Edmonton game on Saturday had no problem being excited for Edmonton. It was a quite a contrast to what I’m used to on Saturday night.

It's actually used more widely than just in skiing. Apres <<anything>> has become a thing. I don't ski either, but I've read about it and seen it referenced in TV and movies since I was a kid, which was a long long time ago.

Well I mean apres just means after, so. I use apres with things sometimes, but I’ve just never heard it with ski.
