The worst trade in Leafs history is Kordic for Courtnall. Montreal got an all star and the Leafs got a avg player that didn't even play a full season and killed himself in the off season. My friend who was a Leafs hater used to tease me that the Leafs traded Courtnall for a dead guy.

Hogie, kordic did indeed play for the leafs. Two or three seasons. He died a few years after playing for the leafs.
I can’t remember if I bought his book, or took it out from the library, but once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. Riveting.

He played a couple of season with the Leafs, and then ended up in the AHL in his third season with the team.

FYI...John Kordic played over 100 games for the Leafs over 2 seasons. Yeah...it was a very bad trade. But in his defense, the guy had a lot of personal issues that eventually took him down.

I was wrong about Kordic not playing at all for the Leafs, but it wasn't much and he was very ineffective. Courtnall was a star, not a superstar, but much better than Kordic and Kordic killed himself long before Courtnall stopped playing for Montreal. My friend was right, the Leafs traded Courtnall for a dead guy, how is that not the worst trade? I forgot to mention that Courtnall WAS an all-star in 1994.

It's not the worst trade because the Kurvers one is significantly worse.

You had a bad Leafs team trading away an unprotected 1st in the Eric Lindros draft. Imagine the Leafs trading away their 2015 1st for the McDavid draft before that year even started while having a terrible team. It's just such a bad process, it can't be topped. And everyone knew Lindros was in that draft as a local, generational talent. And they just destroyed any hope of him being drafted by the Leafs before the year even started, for nothing.

They very well may have gotten Lindros if they didn't trade the pick because they ended up making trades to improve the team afterwards out of sheer embarrassment at the thought of handing over Lindros, the best prospect since Mario, to another team. And they still only managed to finish 3rd last.

How is trading Courtnall for a dead guy not the worst trade? Sure they've made many bad trades, none are worse than trading for an avg player who didn't play much and ultimaltely killed himself.

Terrible trade no doubt.
I wouldn't say it was the worst but I was never much of a Courtnall fan at the time.

Leafs as a franchise should never trade their first round picks a year out or more from a draft ever again. It always ends terribly. The Kurvers trade still ended up being Niedermayer (3rd overall). Bringing back Wendel lost us Luongo (4th overall in ‘97). Kessel acquisition cost us Seguin and Hamilton in back to back drafts (2nd and 9th overall respectively). And even recently when the Leafs traded a first to dump Marleau that was the worst season of the Matthews era and cost us Jarvis (13th overall).

Too close to Ottawa and Montreal
Noodles absolutely hating that the Leafs have a good goalie tandem
Always funny for Noodles to be critical since he started doing Senator broadcasts he refuses to say one negative about that organization in any way, despite it being a joke for at least a decade, Disingenuous brown noser who is intent on feathering his own job security.
The Leafs are the only Canadian team most of the suck ups at TSN are willing to speak harshly of. Pandering to the Toronto Sports Network mouth breathers

Noodles definitely backtracking on the whole Stolarz/Woll tandem. Even made a comment about Stolarz having fun, for a guy who claims to not care what people on social media think, Noodles for sure heard the outrage.

Sam Cosentino is the fakest person in hockey, total puppet. Cringe/pathetic to watch.

He sucks. Beyond being a charisma vacuum he's also terrible at his job of being a "junior hockey analyst." His descriptions of prospects in his crap articles are so bare-bones and often wrong. Can't believe the man is still employed.

The guy hates the Leafs so badly he will throw up any flawed argument he can. Said he liked the Bobrovsky/Spencer Knight combo in Florida over Stolarz and Woll - the backup is sporting a 2.60gaa with .896 s%.

What really got to me was his disrespect of Grebenkin. He flat out said the kid couldn't skate last week and then the other day called him "Toronto's hawk tuah".

Then McLennan, who is soft as baby shit, went on a twitter blocking spree. I'd rather have unabashed Oiler lover Strudwick over him
