Your Worst Nightmare
All that draft capital out the window for an expansion team's #6 defenseman and a backup on one hell of a contract with limited NHL experience.

This trade is a bad.

Also, if you really wanted to go there. Considering contracts. Wouldn't a swap of Mrazek > Driedger and Soucy > Dermott be a pretty close shot straight across? Is all the draft picks like HF tax because the Leafs suck?

Seems high.

Mrazek is available though.....

I think we'll shoot higher D wise and the goalie move is lateral without considering the cap.

I like the idea a lot. It's original. But I just don't like Driedger. I'd pass, for Toronto.

Good proposal, though. And maybe just Soucy is worth discussing.

Well I obviously overvalued the package it would take. Maybe a 2022 2nd + dermott+ abramov for soucy ?

Could be possible even though Dermott's not really needed with Fleury, Borgen and Lauzon(cheap, young bottom pairing defenders) already on the Kraken.
I just threw together a quick package, I'm sure things could be moved around with a similar value player.

Seattle gets a first and two seconds a cost controlled 5 d who is still young and plays both sides and Mrazek who admittedly hasn't been good this season.

Toronto shores up there d and gets a younger goalie who has been good every other year except for this year. Cap is close to equal.
Who says no ?

How about this instead

Leafs
Oleksiak
Soucy

Seattle
Alex Kerfoot
Travis Dermott
Nicholas Robertson
2022 1ST

As a leaf fan I really hate losing Robertson. With that being said I think the value is good, it just comes down to if Seattle has an appetite to move oleksiak. Also leafs would have a big hole in their top 6 after moving kerfoot and Robertson.

Then we make a trade with Arizona for Crouse to play on JT’s wing!

Dermott is not something the Kraken wants or needs.
