With Treliving coming out yesterday and saying the Leafs need to change the DNA of the team, and with the Rangers looking like they need a major shake up. I came up with this proposal.

Yes because Willy has done so much in the last 9 years to help this team succeed in the playoffs. If anything, he was probably the worst player the last 3 games of the Florida series. I'm tired of these die hard leaf fans that just keep expecting them to win when clearly this core has proven the last 9 years that they can't. Please explain how this deal is awful. Yes Kreider had a bad year but he's also the type of player who Berube would love being size, speed, forecheck, net front presence and on our top 2 lines should get 20-30 goals pretty easily. Cuylle is pretty much Matthew Knies, maybe just a little less skill but still the exact same player, and as for Miller, if he's not that good then Morgan Rielly is just outright garbage.

So instead of suggesting I stop making proposals, how about you actually include some reasoning as to why you think this trade is awful instead of just being your typical leaf fan who sol believes in this core and completely ignoring what GM has said about this team.

Bad trade for the Leafs as Nylander is by far the best player in the trade.

I think the Leafs are committed to keeping Nylander and using assets (picks/prospects) to trade for the guys they want. Not sure what those Ranger players would cost? But Krieder certainly should be a target.

Once again, the Leafs don't have any picks or prospects as we sent them out this past trade deadline. We don't have any 1st for the next 3 years and our only prospect of any value is Cowan.

A Toronto fan who believes is in the core is not "typical".

Toronto management is the one that's repeatedly believed in this core and that is why there are so many Maple Leafs fans proposing various deals (even bad ones) to get rid of them.

On a related note, I overall like the your trade proposal and if Willie is going to waive I'd imagine a city with a direct flight to Sweden would be appealing. Come playoff time guys like Kreider and Cuylle will bring the time of mindset and style the Leafs desperately need in their top 6.

Still, Nylander is likely not waiving, period, so unfortunately any trade involving him is almost certainly not happening.

This is such a laughably bad trade for the leafs. As someone who has followed both these teams well.

Kreider - Washed, carried by Panarin, useless at even-strength, has injury problems. Only strength is penalty killing

Miller - One of the dumbest hockey player's I've ever seen. He makes Mo Rielly look good defensively . Is average in the offensive zone.

Cuylle - Young underrated power forward with 65 point potential. Great player

Nylander - Elite offensively, one of the most talented NHL players. Not good defensively

Rielly - Very good offensively, suspect defence

Mcmann - Shittier version of Cuylle

Rielly is like Tavares. Wants to be in Toronto forever. He's not from here but he's married to Tessa Virtue who is Canadian figure skating royalty and her family is here and in London, ON (90 min from Toronto). Very very unlikely that Rielly would consider waiving.
