Probably should have started Petruzzelli yesterday then.

Kallgren gave up a soft goal that killed us, and hasn't played well at all. Now he is the 4th goalie on the depth chart so this is pretty much what you get at that point, but Petruzzelli should be given a chance. It just should have been yesterday if you don't want his debut to be today.

Oh well, hopefully Kallgren doesn't suck because this should be a game we win.

Yesterday was HOF game.

It was supposed to be huge game, November 11th. game.

Perhaps it was too big for not only Petruzzelli, but the double digits as well. (double z, double l)

Salming tribute tonight. Just getting set up.

Sad when true Leaf fans can't admit da truth .. makes me sick .. blaming Kallgren r u f*ckin serious friends????????? .. i get it people can't handle da truth but it needs to be said until progress is made here .. our 2 11M+ C's Matty and JT got MASSIVELY MASSIVELY MASSIVELY CAVED last night .. i don't want to hear a thing on anyone else .. sure some other guys were poor but we can't be getting CAVED down middle of ice like Crosby and Malkin caved us .. with Borje in building those 2 are not captain material

Right now even deangelo fought.... and I dont like him at all. But props for torts... He gets his players fighting and playing for the team. Unlike we.

We've been told of the greatness of this teams construct for years now, why would we 'expect' anything else?

Problem being of course, that the team quite often fails to deliver on these expectations.

Exactly.

If not for COVID, hot goalies, the refs, playoff format and our own Zamboni driver; this teams accolades would dwarf that of the Canadiens and Isles dynasties.

If literally no minor setback or challenge occurs, this is an easy win for this group of legends.

Just don't let Holl or Sandin pinch. All I ask. These constant odd man rushes resulting in back breaking goals needs to end.
It takes Holl so long to recognize his options when he gets the puck that by the time he's done processing the information the options have disappeared.
I don't know whats up with Sandin and his poor decisions but he better get it figured out soon. It's getting to the point where i'm uncomfortable seeing him out there.

You shouldn't be surprised speed kills in pro hockey and you just mentioned our 2 slowest guys

Do you feel comfortable with any of the defenders right now.

To start Sandin playing on his off-side rather than more experienced defenders?
Giordano, making mistakes, and looking his age.
Holl.
Liljegren is making some gaffs, but like Sandin, he's little more than a rookie.
Rielly, perhaps the softest player on defense.
Brodie is Brodie, always a complementary defender.

Who gets a passing grade as far as playing up to potential?

If the Canucks don’t show up and put in a good effort the Leafs very well could win this game.

Settler is the still the Captain of this franchise.

Marner and Matthews looked like they couldn’t be bothered to care. Didn’t even take their helmets off. A foreshadowing of their performance yesterday.

I'm only surprised with Sandin to be honest. I don't remember what appears to be this lack of awareness in his previous years. In fact i would go so far as to say that was one of his attributes.

Again, I question why, 110 game over 4 years, Sandin is playing his off-wing, rather than players with 6, 7 10 times the number of NHL games he has aren't?

Is this a seniority issue, where the players told the coach no?

Leafs weren’t the better team. just look at HDCF% and SF%

think of these as high danger chances forced vs against and shots forced vs against. Leafs had a good 2nd period and that’s it

Well it was pretty even then overall because of that really good 2nd... but yeah true. Weird how they couldn't continue that in the 3rd. I didn't think they played a really bad 3rd but they couldn't really break through either I guess.

I get the 1st being tough after that ceremony but the 3rd they just let off the gas.

Frustrating forsure. They should be scoring more than they have. Hopefully Vancouver helps there. They've been letting over 4 goals a game.

Watch tape of his playoff semi final series against canes AHL team .. after you watch those games then you will completely get it .. then watch Habs playoff series again .. same old same old

Kallgren being in is stupid. Just let the other kid play. How else will they really know what they have.

It's playing with fire as someone else mentioned. Murray is probably back soon but you don't want Kallgren getting injured. Some of Keefes lineup decisions are questionable.

It's not like they've been lighting it up offensively. He needs to shake it up a bit. The players don't get to say where they want to be in the lineup. The coach does.

I have no idea. I guess it was worth a look at some point. If it worked it would alleviate the balance on the back end.

He is not fleet of foot, but against the Habs he had 37 NHL games under his belt.
In 2018-2019 he had 44 AHL games under his belt.
Experience will help.
And speed is wasted on some players when it comes to defending.

Pertuzzeli mentioned how in practice the team was lighting him up, I wonder if that was cause for concern.
I'd be less worried about Perruzzelli and more concerned that the same players who can't even hit the net during the game think it's open season on the next rookie G called up from the Marlies.

What a poisoned dressing room this is if they're actually okay with this crap. Then again, during practice the forwards get to feast on this crap D and constant turnovers so it's much easier to score goals regardless

If he said that, I'd be concerned as coach/GM. Guy is already low in confidence with just practices. It's great he's doing well in the AHL, but nothing about his style gives confidence. He's very scambly. He battles hard, no doubt, but he's out of position a lot.

His edge work skating is fine (in fact good) but in a fast up/down ice game he always struggles as his passes get intercepted and he flat out gets beat in 1 on 1 puck races with ease .. he can't make a single error in his game (he has no margin for error at all) .. it is very hard to play pro hockey like that
