+1 for Andersen starting.

But that's a discussion between him and the coaching staff. I'm sure they'll talk to him about it, and if he wants to go, he'll start.

When would you play him? This is the easiest game on paper they’ll play until they play the Kings or Wings in a couple of weeks.
Really? Sharks were on third game in 4 nights on the road. That, the travel and the time difference should have meant an easy win against a non conference team. Tonight's game is against a division rival and is a b2b game. If Andersen needed a rest it should have been last night. On the other hand it was a bit of a snooze fest for him so maybe Babcock will play Andersen after all but he sticks to his guns even when many fans differ.

That’s not how they do it so why go down that path. Montreal is the weakest opponent on paper they’ll play in a while.

Babcock ...... sticks to his guns even when many fans differ.

Ludicrous to think that any coach should make his decisions based on what the fans think. The management team should be smart enough to make the proper decision on the coach's performance. Yes, I believe that Babcock has failed miserably and should be gone but one would hope that management is capable of ultimately doing the right thing.

for me, this is the key game of the season so far. If they win they'll be a respectable 7-4-2 and gain some confidence as they get healthy and have a rest before Tuesday. If they lose, they'll drop to 6-5-2 and continue their pattern of treading water and not gaining any traction

The trend is letting the first goal... what's that 9 out of 12 games now... that has to stop.

They played well out of the gate last night but were still down.

Itd be nice to see them bury a team early.

Looked like guys were squeezing it too tight, that's what it looked like. They missed glorious opportunities at the start.

I hate to keep reiterating this but it just seems too true.

This team is stuck in 'no man's land'. We're not quite good enough to make any progress from the last 2 year's results, but not quite bad enough to pull the trigger on any meaningful changes.

lol I dunno, when I watch this team I just cannot picture them defeating Boston in a 7 game series. They honestly might even lose in less than 7 games this year if they face Boston again.

Babcock has to keep his streak alive of always playing the starter in the first of a back to back followed by the backup in the 2nd game, no matter the opponent or situation. The 30 other teams need to get on his level!

This is fixing to be yet anothed HNIC Saturday Shit Show on the biggest stage of the week. If the Leafs aren't losing these games in spectacular and frustrating fashion, the HNIC crew treats the Leafs like they are just there to help showcase their opponent the entire program. I used to really enjoy HNIC. Now that almost all other broadcasts are blacked out beyond Ontario, it would be nice to have HNIC regain its atmosphere and pageantry.

They really should start Andersen tonight for a number of reasons. It's a division game and having Hutchinson play the second game vs the Habs in a month doesn't sit well with me. Andersen had a light work load last night, last night was no great shakes but they could get the team rolling before going back to the platoon, and don't need to be nursing fragile confidence of the team and the goalie at the same time, and Hutchinson isn't a good goalie.

I’m definitely not a rose (leaf coloured glasses) kind of guy, but this team is on a 96pt pace while having the toughest schedule thus far and doing it without our 1LW our #4D all season and without our 1C for a good bit. Not to mention the goaltending has been bad. I’m not thrilled, but I won’t be concerned unless this drags on past American Thanksgiving

Johnsson-Matthews-Nylander: 1.73 xGA/60
Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak: 1.72 xGA/60

pretty surprising considering Matthews is such a lazy floater in the defensive end and Bergeron is an all time great

You do realize we're not the only team who faces injuries, right? You should check out how Boston does without Bergeron (who's more important to their team than Tavares is to us).

Yeah I'd say at least 4... hopefully tonight they play a bit looser, and get a few early ones.

No reason they should be making these huge gaffes, and unforced turnovers.

If you’re going to put no effort in to a GDT, how about not applying or handing it off to someone else when you need to travel?

People here like to gripe on the effort of the players, and the effort from the fans in the building.

It starts here, though.

I didn't realize that if we put more effort into making a good GDT it would make the team play better. Everyone get your MS Paint out and ready to go!
