Post-Series Talk: Toronto Maple Leafs defeat the Ottawa Senators, 4-2

It must be strange seeing a player that cares in an interview. A truly foreign concept to you I know. Not a guy wearing a chain or getting ready to jump on a PJ back to Arizona so he can play tennis with his buddies.
It not strange at all.

Does Brady stay in Ottawa in the offseason? Don't think he sticks around much - Matthews spends more time in Toronto than Brady does in Ottawa.

Was tremendously impressed with Kleven this series even in a losing effort. Looks like a different guy from December.

It's 2017.

The Leafs have just made the playoffs in an 82-game season for the first time in 13 years.

They finish in the final wildcard spot, drawing the President's Trophy winning Capitals.

They take a 2-1 series lead.

5 of 6 games end in OT.

they lose in 6 games.

Classic HF haters.

Toronto is a world class city and the hockey Mecca.

Ottawa is not that.

I know I'm getting boring saying this over and over but it's my way. I still firmly believe Matthews got all three of those goals in game 3. He *definitely* touches the puck on the Knies goal before it goes in and Ullmark might have been able to grab it otherwise. On the Benoit goal, the slow motion replays sure look to me like it was redirected off something (this video doesn't show it) and the most obvious thing looked like it would have touched Matthews on the way in.

In both cases, Matthews knows but didn't say a word and let the other guys have the glory. No one says this very often about Matthews but that's a true leader.

It's a team game after all.

Every goal is reviewed, over and over, and changes are made if they got it wrong, during or after the game.
Obviously the league disagrees with you.

Sure, but on the Knies goal I am 100% right. There's no debate. It's very clear he touches it. On the Benoit goal, I'm only 50-75% sure but I think it's more likely than not. I doubt the league really cares that much if a player doesn't say anything.

The league definitely cares, they make sure everything is correct now, with live betting on the games now, they make sure they got it right.

They have even gone back through other years and correcting stats (non goals/assists stats) they said last year, they just finished going back to the ‘05 cap, and correcting all the ‘hits’ category.

Well, they didn't seem to care here. Again, this one isn't debatable, Matthews definitely tapped it in and it mattered because Ullmark had a chance of grabbing it if he hadn't been there.

Here's the slow-mo on the Benoit winner. Sorry, I'm almost positive that goes off of Matthews. but I can't be as definitive as the Knies goal.
