I'm kind of intrigued at the idea of 3rd Line Giroux. I think he's still got another year or two in him.
Chabot was a stud out there. Better than Sanderson. Batherson was invisible though.Good series.
Batherson and Chabot don't have the foot speed to be that soft. They can go quick once they get going but it takes too long. Can probably go with them again next year but need to look at options.
Did G announce his retirement? Honestly not sure what to do with him. Hopefully he decides to rest until Jan or the deadline and signs a cheaper deal.
I think he’s super consistently defensively lolNah. I'm done with Drake. You gotta trade him. He's just not consistent enough to be a top-6 winger and he's too soft to play anywhere else. Need to bring in fresh blood.
I thought he was fantastic tonight. Absolutely keep him around. My guess for $2.5-3.5 range for 1 yrI'm kind of intrigued at the idea of 3rd Line Giroux. I think he's still got another year or two in him.
Yes sir. Agreed and well said. That's pretty much how I feel, but we can't have an ineffectual 2nd line again. The biggest differentiator in terms of what can either help this team elevate or hold them back is Batherson, Cozens and Zetterlund. We got very little from them these playoffs and still looked competitive - if they can take the strides Staios is banking on, we’ll be pretty dangerous. If not… we’ve got a number of holes.
But I think it’s clear now, if it wasn’t before, that Stützle, Sanderson and Tkachuk are legitimately elite. We’ve also got a lot of other good pieces. So at the very least, it’s a good start.
Peterka, JJ. Time to right this wrongIt's a tall order but they desperately need a winger for Stu that can snipe. Need to get the most out of him
Nah I’m not losing sleep.Sucks, but not even that mad. It took 6 games for them to eliminate a team with 0 collective playoff experience. Tons of guys got their first playoff goals this series. We didn't just lay down and die against a much more seasoned team when the odds and stats were against us, we showed heart and I'm proud of that. Different story next year when we make it again. Go Sens Go.
He's just too slow to skate himself out of pressure and then makes bad passes or reads a lot of the time. Sanderson/Karlsson would just skate around the pressure and make the play.Chabot was a stud out there. Better than Sanderson. Batherson was invisible though.
I don’t really buy the experience stuff winning is betterCan’t be too upset with this. Valuable experience. Now they know what it takes to win in the playoffs. They will be back. They’ve got a taste now. Proud of this group
Definitely happy to go to game 3 and 6. Missed how loud the arena can get this time of year. It is almost harder that every game was so close than if we just lost a bunch of 4-1 games.Ended up scoring Last second seats to the game, what an unbelievable atmosphere tonight was.
To an extent, I agree. We have the nucleus of something for sure, just need to add a bit and have faith that the core can continue to grow.We should obviously always be tweaking the team, but realistically, we don't need major changes. We just need to let the team continue to grow and gain experience.
Tonight, Chabot was easily our best defenseman though, despite these failings. He's just too slow to skate himself out of pressure and then makes bad passes or reads a lot of the time. Sanderson/Karlsson would just skate around the pressure and make the play.
I'm sure it's on his mind. How could it not be?Now the hockey Canada trial started I wonder if that was having an effect on him.
To be fair, Crosby and Malkin alone are worth all three of our top lines combined.Ended up scoring Last second seats to the game, what an unbelievable atmosphere tonight was.
We were never supposed to win this series. Our goal was the make the playoffs and we did.
The boys played unreal and learned something you cannot teach.
Remember, we beat Pittsburgh in 5 in 07 and the next year they were a force.
This is just the end of Episode 1 in the series of what’s to come, you never beat the final boss in the first movie.
GO SENS GO! DAMN PROUD TO BE A SENS FAN!!
Yea he exactly. Has the team Canada investigation be on his mind his whole career? Guy just can’t do what you need him to do.I'm sure it's on his mind. How could it not be?
But I guess I'd give that more credence if what we saw from Batherson was out of character, but to me he was the same player he's always been. He wants to toe-drag and backhand sauce across the ice no matter what the situation is. He doesn't want to work defensively and doesn't have a great feel for that sort of thing to begin with. He stood out to me for not really being able [or willing?] to change.
The playoffs are a tough place for PP specialists.
