dont worry they will blame mitch as nostrils floats or passes the puck away

Nope Mathew’s will score 3 goals tonight. (Need reverse Ju Ju).

In all seriousness Mathew’s was an inch from ending our season in a sweep and hit another post that would have made last game 2-1 vs 3-0 with a few minutes left.

I dislike the player but he is a good two way player and is likely banged up like Brady is.

That said, f*** the leafs and if Sens can get on the board early we have a great chance of tying the series.

Ngl, it would be kinda funny if he scored 4 and lost again.

dude has 2 goals in his last 15 playoff games. He's a very impressive player but he's a choker.

Ovechkin was a choker until he wasn't. Matthews has got to deliver, I don't think beating the Sens will help his long term reputation, but it'll be the first step to turning it around. He must have so much pressure on him and his wingers going to flopping all over the ice. It's almost like Marner flopping adds to the Matthews choker label because not only is it not clutch, it looks soft too.

Matthews is a stud, I'm always impressed when I see him play. Only got 2 more games to enjoy him this season though.

With her mom in attendance? We won't see any of the play then, with the momcam working full-time!
I hope Mitch and Willie are going to be able to deal with the terrible rejection, if indeed as expected, SN re-deploys one of their iso-cam's to Matthews mom-cam. I feel terrible for them, losing out like that! Of course SN could simply elect to completely ignore the Sens instead of their more usual mostly ignore them. Sorry Sens fans, we (SN) have no replays available for you because we are too busy focusing our Leafnet camera shots elsewhere!

This is NOT unwarranted driver profiling! It is perfectly reasonable and understandable for police to confirm driver sanity and intelligence given the plate or car flags. If how Blue fans act in everybody else's home building is any indication, perfectly reasonable to assume they are assholes on the road too....

Matthews is a phenomenal talent but man, he just doesn't look like he's giving it his all when it matters. Now he does come by that naturally because he does have that calm demeanour all the time. Like when he had that 4 goal game against us to start his career, he never got all excited or crazy about scoring any of those goals, he looked like a 10 year vet potting a goal during exhibition.

However, I've seen him go behind the net as the first forechecker with an opportunity to slam his big frame into the D, and he'll just take the side route to try and corral the puck with his stick. Still effective at it because he is excellent at stealing pucks, but this is the PLAYOFFS. Hit the guy to hurt, be an example to the rest of your team because you are the captain.

There's not one forward on Ottawa who wouldn't be using his body there (maybe Giroux would opt for stick but he's not that big), and that has a lot to do with your top guys like Tkachuk and Stützle taking every opportunity to hit when they can. Even Pinto and Gaudette are hitting guys and that's not something they did much in the regular season.

Matthews will score highlight reel goals with frequency, but how often do you see a clip of him fighting through some kind of adversity? It's been 9 years and after all that failure, there's very little change in his game. He's got a huge frame and incredible skill but until he can ramp up the intensity, that team is going nowhere. Barkov and Florida will demolish that team if they manage to beat Ottawa and it's crazy we're going to a game 6 here after taking a 3-0 lead.

Ottawa is taking this in 7 of course GO SENS GO

is it just me, or does Shane Pinto feel like Drake Batherson with Spezza's laugh?

Very solid analysis... a great read! I cannot help but respect the player for his skill, impact, even though he does play for the evil blue empire! Think of how Darth Vader is cool but he is still very evil! :-)

I wonder how much of his lack of physical is the old "nature vs nurture" argument though. Whether that aspect of his game is built in, inherent, I would bet money that the hit hard physical play part been coached out of him over the years, given his status as pure super-sniper point producer. How many coaches demanded he leave that aspect of the game to others because the last thing they want was him injured? Tough to argue against that cost benefit assessment really, though they would still have to coach him to battle his way in. Then again, his supreme skill IMO though is finding free open shooting space. He is truly amazing, gifted at that.

I know this isn't "leafs-Sens" related... but really didn't like the quick run-down on the Hart trophy from Ron McLean...

Mentioned Hellebuyck's bounce back win last night, and Draisaitl's 19 game playoff point streak... both of which have absolutely ZERO to do with the Hart trophy...
