Toronto is in big trouble... Matthews's injury is still there. Surgery incoming?

I hope we aren’t robbed of watching Matthews. Hope he recovers fully and can make a playoff push.

As annoying as Leaf fans are, it’s getting to the point where Leaf haters are more annoying.
As a Habs fan my animosity towards the Leafs is at a record low, maybe because we've only played once since opening night smh

Animosity or not - no way I’m hoping for prolonged injury. Didn’t like that Laine injury either and glad he’s back to his old self… no matter if I hope he fans on every shot against us.

They might but they'll quickly forgive him just like they forgave Marner.
I mean if he plays in the tournament while injured the entire season and then is never healthy at any point this season it would change my opinion on him. I would still cheer him on because he is a Leaf and I want the Leafs to win…and I don’t get a choice on who is on the team or not.

Probably because the dubas days are over. Leafs were the biggest joke on the planet under his tenure.

Now they're respectable. Still hate em but their team is much tougher now and I like tough

He'll be available come playoffs. LV playbook 101. Leagues gotta do something about this.

I'm sure he does have some lingering aches and pains but watching him, he looked like he could play. If it's playoffs I've got a feeling he plays. It'll be more telling if there is no surgery, and they(Leafs) add a high caliber player soon. Means some convo's happened over freeze/break.

Touche to the Leafs. Win while you can with the rules that are what they are. No shame imo.

Only people who don't watch the player every day think he is close to healthy. Matthews playing injured is still a 40 goal #1C which is insane. But ask any Leaf fan who has watched Matthews his entire career when he is fully healthy he is a force. 200 feet, puck battle winning machine who can score from any spot in any way from any angle.

This year, he was a guy who could make a play and get some good looks at a high level, but was no where near as lethal as he usually is. Missing the net a ton, not even close to the same defensively, can't skate, can't forecheck.

Basically he was able to draw players, pass the puck, and get scoring chances but usually miss them and that is such a small slice of the player he is.

Edmonton would want a Dman or goalie for Jeff Skinner IMO.

Doesn't matter who, any leafs are better than the oilers in those areas aside from Ekholm.

Jeff Skinner is a good fit, and will pay off for the Oilers or the Leafs later on in the season/playoffs.

Leafs are in trouble by.. Being first in the Atlantic despite Matthews being a non factor this season due to already being injured and being clearly injured when he did play (as well as tons of other injuries)?

If anything, this is the first time the Leafs might be able to do the Kucherov/Stone move at the TDL
5-5 last 10 games. They are slipping and may be in a wild spot by the end of next week.

BIG trouble! Quick extend Marner for $15m/yr to hedge against Matthew's injuries, he's literally carrying the team, can't afford to lose this kind of talent. C'mon Treliving, get her done asap.
