Impact made a move, ony Marinaro @TonyMarinaro
Typo: According 2 a source #IMFC have signed a 3year deal over 10m with Argentine winger Ignacio Piatti. He will be a DP & join team in June
Just saw that Plata is injured for 3 weeks and Saborio will possibly be suspended so that could be 2/3 of RSL's best players out for next week's game
They thought they were getting Pablo Piatti and got his brother who is way older and not nearly as good... im fine with that, Pablo would have destroyed MLS
I can't believe how expensive these jerseys are. I was expecting cheaper since MLS is not a high end league compared to the other pro leagues. I seen a jersey at sportscheck for $120 and that was with no name. I do really like the jerseys though, much more prefer soccer jerseys over any other sport in terms of style and fashion. Is there a certain store you guys buy from?
Toronto FC may have some more Canadian content on their roster as soon as this weekend.
Sources tell TSN's Luke Wileman the team signed Canadian international Issey Nakajima-Farran on Thursday.
With Jackson suspended who steps into his spot in the starting XI...TBH I didn't really like his play these last 2 games...
If available, I believe Nakajima will take his spot.
I've never seen him play so I guess I have someone to watch for next game
One question I understand he's Canadian but his name is like a mix of Persian and Japanese with Farran and Nakajima any idea what his roots are?
He's definitely Japanese but idk what the other half is. He looks Asian though and started his career in the Japanese league.
Anyway according to Larsen our lineup tomorrow will be
Defoe Gilberto
Rey Bradley Osorio/Hall Bloom
Morrow Henry Caldwell Orr
Cesar
Osorio got injured in training so its not clear if he'll play... Bloom at RM is interesting, it leaves DeRo on the bench to bring on as an impact sub but at the same time it's a very defensive tactic against a team with 4/5 attackers injured. My guess is tomorrow will look a lot like the game vs Seattle with lots of defending.
Is Farran brought in to be a starter or will he most likely be coming in off the bench?
Have to love the center of this team.![]()
Yep and having a strong mid field compared to a weak one is very drastic. A strong mid-field allows you to dictate style of play, possession (most of the time). We already have seen the benefits of it, Cesar barely broke a sweat last game. If he was here last year it's a completely different game for him.
The biggest thing about our midfield is they can actually get the ball to the wingers and strikers. Last year it was so hard to do that with guys like Hall, Laba and Russell who aren't creative passers and because of that it just ended with a lot of the defenders hoofing the ball up. Having midfielders so good with the ball helps us play however we want to, whether it's holding possession or moving the ball up quickly. That'll be harder today with Hall and Bloom both possibly starting.
I don't know why more teams do this. If I were a GM or coach the first thing I'd try to do is acquire a star mid-fielder or two. My focus would be on the mid-field, yes you need to score, but when your wingers and strikers have excellent service anyone can deliver at least you hope so. You defend less, your goalkeeper stays fresh and works less, you keep possession and you tire out the enemy's defence.
