I agree, they are bad, but isn't it pretty much the same group as the last 2 years?
You're right, I'm surprised how poorly Mavinga is playing. They should be better than this. It's the lack of structure in the back and quite frankly the effort level that continue to undermine this defence. Is it Armas telling them to play a certain way, I'm not sure. He doesn't seem to have the answers.

Thank goodness! A long road to go this year, however, this team can still do some damage. Just got to turn things around and climb are way back into a playoff spot

That defence is an abomination. I’m sure Armas plays a part in this but these guys don’t belong in a house league for U12. A change has to be made to acquire good defenders or get rid of management
Yes that's what i see too .. those 2 guys Mavinga and OMAR are house leaguers .. whoever new coach is needs to make sure they both sit on bench and try 2 other guys .. no coach can win with those 2 clowns .. Omar has been brutal for 2 years now .. he can't run, kick or do anything except head ball

Going to have to disagree with you on Mavinga. I did not watch the game on Saturday (thank god) but he is normally very solid for us. With Omar however, I completely agree. Steep decline from his prime. We really need to bring in some no nonsense/tough to play against CBs that can keep up with fast paced offenses.

Could be just a lot of recent brain farts for Mavinga .. as he can run and kick still .. maybe he is just frustrated with team and going through a bad stretch but he has to clean up his mental game fast

Mavinga is definitely prone to brain farts, but he has been a stalwart for us on defense over the years, when healthy. Omar is no athlete, and definitely not a footballer. I can't imagine there isn't an academy player who couldn't step in and do a better job.

I hope new coach sees this and fixes it fast .. anyone hear about what TFC will do with season tickets assuming games are allowed again with 2,500 spectators?

The interim coach seems to have a decent pedigree. I am confident that he will implement a style and formation that is more conducive to the skill set of our current roster.

On paper, this team should be one of the top seeds in the Eastern Conference. The status quo was completely unacceptable.

I admittedly haven’t seen much of the team this year, I’ve had terrible luck with my work schedule, has Mavinga looked that bad? When healthy I think he’s been one of the best defenders this team has had.

Omar on the other hand..

Between Euros, Copa America and soon the Gold Cup, football overload. Bring it on!
Not to mention the club season ended recently and already camps are starting across Europe.

The condensed schedule due to Covid has made it so there is never a dull moment in this sport.

I still think he needs to move on for everyone's benefit. But i'm glad it looks like it's going to be a better swan song for a club legend.
I agree he needs to move on, but I hope he does it after this season and gets one more run in the team. Feels strange having him go out on the current terms, he's a club legend and deserves better.

Let's hope but bottom line with our current backend and midfield it seems like a HUGE stretch that we can STOP goals .. up front with 3 DP's all playing we should score more no matter what da lineup .. Altidore should be able to score quite a few and up his value

Soteldo and Poz starting together for the first time. I'm letting myself be excited for this despite all the crap this team has been through this year.
