I was going to cut them some slack considering it's their first real game action in a long time, but losing a 2 goal lead against a team who is down a man for the entire 2nd half is pretty bad.

Same problems as last season and the year before. Can't defend well enough.

This one is on Vanney. He was overconfident in switching out both central defenders when he did. Instead of putting them away in the second half we let them up off the mat.

Hopefully it's a lesson learned.

The subs were especially bad.

Subbing 3 of your 4 back-line players at any point is a bad idea, since they are warm and focused at that point. I also don't love the Poz and Piatti subs. De Leon is sturdier in the challenge, however both the DP's control so much of our pace and are huge for our attacking moves and possession play. Taking them both off derailed much of our momentum moving forward

I get Vanney wanted to get people involved after the long break, but this was not the way of doing it!

Our 1st line defenders are ok but not great. Our backups are very weak. Well that will be it for subbing our defenders going forward.

On the bright side, it's great to be criticizing in game tactical adjustments again after all this time.

Looking forward to Montreal on Thursday.

Looked like mavinga was grabbing his hammy before he got pulled. Should have been a call on the tying goal. DC guy all over zavelta back. Surprised it wasn’t mentioned on broadcast. He had position.

Should have kept attacking a tired dc team in the heat down a man. They put themselves to sleep the last 20 mins. Those hydration breaks are killers. I hate them when I am playing. Takes you out of your groove

He said in the post game interview that he "had to." I believe Mavinga was injured. Not sure about Gonzalez.
Let's not be subbing those 2 backup defenders again. They were horrible on both goals against. Look small and weak to me. We have to control da box in our end. And keep up da attack all game long. And don't understand why we changed our approach in 2nd half. Maybe it is too hot down there and it can't be done for 90 minutes. if so play da weak guys in half 1 when our midfielders are attacking and bring in da A team in 2nd half to make sure we win. Looked to me like we brought in da backup goalie for da 3rd. No one does that sh*t.

If your best defenseman tweaks his hamstring, well dems da breaks, as you would say. You don't leave him out there to tear it.
