The QC
Big series starting with the Oil Saturday night.

We are banged up. Hutch vs the Oilers scares the hell out of me, but props to him for playing way above expectations this week.

Is Bill Ny now the scoring guy? Can Tavares get his touch back? How bad is Matthews wrist? Where the %^&^ is Jack Campbell and is our PP now actually broken?

Looking forward to the game tomorrow, I hope McDavid takes it easy on us!

So Flames get waxed by the Oilers and Sens (7-1 and 6-1) but in between they give up 2 goals in 2 games (less than 5 minutes actually) to the Leafs. Not a good sign for the injured Leafs going into Edmonton who have won IIRC 5 in a row and Mike Smith playing well. Gotta get at least one of three keep the Oilers at bay.

Oilers are still a bad team that is usually outchanced whenever McDavid isn't on the ice. Mike Smith is putting up an absurd .944 SV% and will crash back down to earth soon.

Having said that we seem likely to be still banged up and it still might be Hutchinson, so I can't say I'm overly confident.

Interesting to see we're over =>.500 against every team in the division. Let's keep that up and take 2 or 3 of 3.

Edmonton coming in strong lately. 3 straight 4 point games with our main rival approaching halfway through a shortened season is as close to pivotal as it gets.

Yes the pp is flat because they don’t shoot the puck and don’t get second opportunity on it because net front work is terrible lately. We need zone entries carrying the puck on the powerplay. It’s definitely not broken, it’s pre scouted. Carry the puck in set up,and rip shots, grab rebounds. Very easily said :)

We're missing Wayne's net presence

EDM on an absolute heater right now. Mike Smith is playing way above his abilities. Will not be an easy 3 game set. If we walk away with 2/3 I'd be ecstatic

Am I giving the Oilers too much credit / too worried about our depleted lineup - to be happy with 3 of a possible 6 points?

Well going by last years results its a coin flip. They finished with 2 points more than us but they played an extra game. I think Edmonton ends the season in 2nd behind us. So yeah I'd be happy with 3 of 6 considering our injuries.

are you keeping regular track of this in a spreadsheet....or should I?

I love it.

Missing his charisma and leadership by example. You can sum it all up in to quality veteran leadership. Bogosian is playing well as a veteran but of all the veterans he has stepped up the least in other intangible areas. I wouldn’t mind him protecting the house harder.

Definitely missing Simmonds in many ways
