Proposal: - Toronto - Calgary | HFBoards - NHL Message Board and Forum for National Hockey League

Proposal: Toronto - Calgary

...just one serious question...

Why do people on HF cant understand the concept of a NMC? Even EA which to me is a pure dump have educated themselves about NMC, NTC, M-NTC... etc

Rielly isnt waiving for YYC.

Believe his parents are in BC, Calgary isn't that far off at all.

I mean, fair, but please take him?
Look at the original proposal. Flames trade probably the better player and the 2nd. I am sure there could be an agreement for the Flames to take Rielly, probably could even make Ras part of it. But there is zero chance the Flames are parting with decent assets to add Rielly. Also doubtful he waives his NMC.

Yeah no thanks to Rielly. I believe Farabee will have a better year with being in Calgary for training camp and more acclimated to the system. And trading picks for vets is not Conroys plan

Farabee:25, and two more years at 5 per.
Reilly: 31, and four more years at 7.5 per.

Both had poor years. Why does Calgary do this? And then add a second.

If this trade did happen, which it will not of course, but would Toronto be the club adding?

Never know he is a BC boy closer to home and he is good friends with Kadri. He's also not so far gone he is a lost cause, a change of scenary might wake him up. He had a great first 10 playoff games then reverted back to what he was last few years.

That's completely irrelevant, no way the Flames touch that trade.

Ok. Just curious. Why is Reilly cooked? His stats from last year don't look that bad other than his number of hits dropped dramatically and his giveaway to takeaway ratio also significantly worsened.

Reilly is cooked because he is wearing a Leafs jersey

In any other uniform, he's seen as a "quality top 4", welcome to HFBoards

Ok, a half serious snarky response (and not to the "why do people on HF cant" portion).

Do... do we need to put together a list of players who have NMC or NTC's who have been traded?

When you consider that (1) Rielly is probably not waiving his NMC, and (2) he's cracked and the market for him has plummeted anyway, it all adds up to a player who finishes out his contract in Toronto.

The 2nd is the most valuable piece in that proposal. Farabee also has negative value

The Flames aren’t in any kind of window for winning. Rielly isn’t a player they’d want.

The only kind of older Dman I could potentially see the Flames bringing in is a safe, stay-at-home vet to pair with Parekh.
