Not true when Marner is out.

20-17-5 without Marner
45-24-2 without Matthews
46-39-12 without Nylander

Utter meaningless unless you can normalize for all the other factors such as quality of opponents, other injuries, significance of other people out of the lineup, players playing through injury, and hot/cold streaks, just to name a few.

Is there any actual news about Marner being injured?

Why are so many people assuming that he's not playing? The tweet just says a maintenance absence from practice.

True 71 games is too small a sample size. 57 playoff games for Marner so far, we need more data. 55 for Matthews, we need more time! Can't make any conclusions yet!

That's got to include some really old stuff, since Nylander has missed only one regular season game since the start of the 2021-22 season. (298 games).

Even using those figures, the points % with Marner or Nylander out is virtually identical.

It includes the time he sat out to get more money than Pastrnak (the first time). But it's tricky to figure out since his first year was technically when he came in at the end of the year.

Excluding his rookie year where he came in for 22 games at the end of the year.
Including the sitting out (2018-19),
they are 24-10-2, and this includes the unused cap space (context! :teach:) .
Since sitting out (2019-20), they are 4-2-2.

We just got back Knies and JT, and lose Marner. This team just can't string together healthy rosters.

Nylander hasn't missed 97 games in his career. Not sure where that number came from. Even if you include the holdout year it is nowhere close to that many games

I hope Marner gets in enough games prior to the playoffs so he’s not too rusty.

Well no stolarz I guess

Another win would be nice, just don’t make it so that woll needs 40+ saves for us to win

Calgary is a hard working team, sort of team that gives Toronto trouble if they decide they want to go out for a pleasure skate.
They do work hard. I’ve found myself quite enjoying their games this season.
I sometimes wonder if people that are extra high on the Leafs actually watch many games not involving them.
It would explain a lot.

Anyway, like you say Calgary won’t be giving them easy points, they’ll need to earn a victory. Plus Wolf can get into some grooves where he is exceptionally difficult to beat.
Should be a good battle. 👍
