Toronto Argonauts Thread

Winnipeg have gone to the Grey cup 5 years in a row and lost 3 in a row and easily could have been 4 in a row because their 2nd win was in overtime and shouldn't have gone to overtime because of the Tiger cat player gave Winnipeg a single point because he didn't know the rules and took a knee in the end zone thinking that it was a touch back. Anyway that single gave Winnipeg an undeserved win. Winnipeg is no dynasty.

Hell of a game last night. Love when the underdog wins, especially when it's our team.

I was especially happy for Arbuckle. What a great story.

It's crazy that this was 10-9 for the Bombers going into halftime. On the first drive I was hoping that settling for the FG rather than going for it on 3rd down on the 1 wouldn't burn them. I'm glad it didn't. Even our FG kicker was hobbled for more than half of the game, but we pretty much didn't need him in the second half when we blew it open.
Dinwiddie's 2nd half adjustments are always on
point. Not a perfect coach by any means, but his play calling and demanding respect goes a long way. No matter what QB he has, he find a way to make it work. Remember he had basically a week to prepare his game plan. The playcalling obviously changes when you go from Kelly to Arbuckle, but you need a coach to not overthink things

Just heard Dinwiddie's post game interview, and it's amazing what he said.
He mentioned after they beat BC 6 weeks ago here, he taped a toonie at the top of his locker, and said to his team we'll be back playing this game. He believed so much they would be back in this building.
Also yes he got the toonie back.

Agreed. That being said, I told my son before the game that our best chance to win would be if we dominated the battle of special teams, and the Argos delivered big time.

Had a fun time with my father-in-law watching football yesterday.

My three favourite NFL teams all won: Packers on a blocked field goal attempt, Steelers on a failed two-point convert, and then Bills handing Chiefs their first loss, with Mahones throwing interceptions on his first and last possessions.

Then the Grey Cup! Admittedly I expected Winnipeg to win, particularly when Arbuckle was so cautious early on, and Hajrullahu came up limping.

But boy did we come through, particularly the D.

I watched the play where Collaros got hurt several times but never did see how it happened. After he came back, his first two throws were wobbly (and intercepted), and I was thinking they might go back to Wilson. Can't blame his hand for the third one, as it was tipped.

Really fun game (and day) overall.
