You clearly didn't follow the story closely, the reports were multi GM's offered very impressive offers for Trouba but none equaled what Chevy wanted/needed....IE top pairing young LHD. Thus why would the Jets ever consider anything else.....Trouba had no choice but sign. Chevy played it perfectly.

Leafs aren't trading Marner.

Jets aren't trading Trouba for a forward, unless the forward was a young elite forward that we couldn't pass up.

Jets don't need more forwards, Jets need exactly what Trouba brings.....great defensive play. Unless someone offers up a equally young talented LHD for Trouba, we will gladly keep Trouba.

Marner has been great, but if the Jets made this trade I would scratch my head. I don't know if it helps the team now or in the future, unless they are planning other moves to help the defense.

I see no trade between the Jets and Leafs involving Trouba b/c the only pieces on the Leafs that would help the Jets aren't available.

I've heard em all from jets fans, yet as a leafs fan I wouldnt move any of the above for the jets counterpart. The only guy even close is Laine. Is there an award for worst rookie of the year? because Kyle connor is a shoe in. with all that hype (literally jets fans saying he was better than nylander/marner) and he hasnt done ANYTHING!
