If the Bruins sign him for the money you guys are talking they are out of their minds.

There is a point that would be way to much for Krug, but it sure isn't the 4.75-5 mil a year range. The guys is a class act, and a core player for the organization.

And I would happily give him as many years at that price as he will take, 4, 5 , how about 6.

He is a better player than any of the UFA defenseman out there

So a 2nd pair 40+ point defensman who can play 20+ minutes a night isn't worth 4.75-5M? I think you're out of you're mind.

I don't think Krug''s a 2nd pairing guy though. Really good, OFD, PP specialist #5

4 years @ 5.25M per year is my guess. Not a huge fan of his defensive play - he is a power play specialist but I guess thats the going rate.

He's that out of necessity. I wonder how many other teams would have him on their 2nd pair.

Necessity yes but he stepped way the hell up this season. The kid plays his balls off for this team, is a real solid character guy, and makes the cleanest outlet passes of anyone on the team. Oh and also he's the smoothest skater we have in Boston. Trust me we could have waaaay worse issues than TK being our #4 D(like idk the lack of a #2 or #3 D).

Spurgeon just inked a 4 yr/$5.19m per extension last year and I think Krug is better than he is. You could make the argument that Spurgeon is a little better in his own end, but Krug puts up more points. If the B's can ink him to a four or five year deal in the $4.75m range (+/-), that would be a very good signing IMO.

He is not worth over 5.One way player who had a bad year.If scored more goals last year I might agree But he loses battles steady and weak on boards and in front of net.

This is my take on this as well. Plus the Bruins pretty much have to over pay him, he's the best of a relatively untested group of defensemen on this team.

4 . Something fine. But nothing that starts with 5.Do not reward guys who had bad years.

I'm in the same boat. He has more room to improve, sure, but 5 mil a year is a steep price for him IMO

5 years at 23 million is my guess.

Wally how do you categorize Krug?

Top 4?

Top 5 with unique skills?

A hybrid type

He's feisty tough pushes the pace and is a high end PP point man

This will be interesting
