Torey Krug not expected to play again

Yeah it seems like he had a degenerative ankle just from injuring it and continuing to play on it for years. Sucks for him to see but at least he got paid before injuries killed his career.

Oh Krug didn't play this year? I was wondering why the Blues were suddenly good again, that explains it. Happy for Blues fans!

That's unfortunate, a pretty underrated player overall who had a solid career. Even last year he was still scoring at a 40 pt pace on a bad team. I just remember how much Bruins fans would rip into this guy lol, though he produced for them year after year.

Being an effective d-man in this league at 5'9 is no small feat (no pun intended). Paved the way for dudes like Hutson

Backhanded as f*** 😂😂

Anyways, hopefully Krug finds some sort of closure. I know not being able to go out on your own terms can be a different kind of mental pain, but there really isn’t anything more important in life than your health.

Injuries got the better of him as his career progressed, but peak Krug was an elite puck-moving dman. Total playoff stud as well. His first 4 playoffs -- 46 pts in 62 games. Bruins were smart to not give him the big contract he wanted, though, as he had already peaked by the time they parted ways. Best of luck to him. Not a bad career for a guy who went undrafted. Always liked that little dude.

they talked about this on TSN radio

Karlsson was the first athlete to have that procedure and like anything there is huge risk being the first as I think they said like 75% of his ankle became artificial

Apparently Krug was looking at or had the same procedure
