Why do you think the Canuck players look forward to it.

Automatic 2 points.
Leafs are due to break the Vancouver losing streak. Matthews and Nylander are going to come out flying, and stellar goaltending. Overall, a big night for the team, and a big victory... 6-1 Leafs.

Are Vancouver fans whining about the early start and the "center of the universe" yet? We live in their heads rent free and I know because I lived there. It's a one way rivalry lol.
A few are. Don't mind the early start on a Saturday myself though.

Holy damn that canucks defense is big, gritty and nasty. I had no idea they built a goon squad around Hughes

I don't understand the love affair some have with Lafferty here. Dude stunk with the Leafs and was the 12th/13th forward in the playoffs. Now that he's shooting double his career average some want to pretend he's good. He's also has some of the worst underlying numbers on the Canucks this season.

Bizarre.
yea it’s like people forgot what he was when he was here. He didn’t really fit any role, he couldn’t score enough to play higher than 4th line and was a decent forechecker. Also had a ugly habit of skating the puck into the corner then losing it.

He’s a decent enough depth piece, but I’m more mad about the Reaves signing than his trade, and I don’t really care about the Reaves signing

I think the one thing you can guarantee is that the Leafs won't get shutout. They are on one of the longest non-shutout streaks in the history of the league.
Not quite the longest, yet

I don’t really care about his points in Vancouver or the player himself that much, it’s more the rationale behind it. Gregor-Kampf-Lafferty has a clear use case as a “win the faceoff and skate the puck out” utility line to mop up some defensive zone starts. Gregor-Kampf-Reaves isn’t a line you can start in any defensive context. This would be fine if we had a 3rd line shut down unit but Trev built a very one way 3rd line that needs to be sheltered.

The Matthews Line has surrendered 3 GWG against in various defensive situations late in game in the last 10 days vs Edmonton (cycle), Colorado (rush) as well as a bang bang OT play vs the Islanders, so if you think there isn't room for improvement... well who cares?
You being way off in your description of a player and his strengths/weaknesses does not equate to there being "no room for improvement". That's what we call a strawman.
And for the record, in literally none of these 3 goals you highlighted did anything in your description factor into the play.
Which kind of just goes to show how much it's pulled out of nowhere.

Could have had Lafferty (superior bottom 6 defensive forward for less).
Most of you cheered moving him and many cheered signing Reeves … who is a waste of a roster stall.
Lafferty lost his roster spot to Gregor. He is playing well as are the Canucks good for him. For me, yeah I want Reaves down the stretch.

Reaves is a negative. That you are ignoring they could have both Gregor and Lafferty shows you are just making excuses for 2 bad roster moves (1 trading Lafferty, 2 signing Reaves).
1 guy is a useful bottom 6 player. The other doesn’t belong in the league and pretty much can’t be used against any good team.

It does show anything other than what I posted.

Are you serious? Isn’t reliable 4th line player who is solid defensively and very effective on the pk a role on the team.
Other than eating press box nachos what role does Reaves fill?

I could see a situation where we have a Hathaway-Acciari-Reaves violent forechecking line behind a shutdown line on the 3rd that would make sense but Reaves on a line with two vanilla guys is pointless.

Why bitch about a early start, our annual April ski trips were legend for skiing all day then hitting the bars to watch 3 different time zone playoff games before hitting the sack at a reasonable hour for more skiing the next day. It was priceless for a hockey fan who needs his zzzzz’s……..

Seems like a matter of fit. In Vancouver, guys like Lafferty, Blueger, Dakota are having elevated seasons whereas Hoglander and Kuzmenko aren't thriving. Like what kind of roles can these guys fit and earn Tocchet's trust vs finesse guys who don't fit the risk, reward sliders, work rate, whatever it is.

In Toronto, veterans Bertuzzi, Jarnkrok, Domi don't seem to be thriving in that middle roster role which traditionally doesn't generate that much offense. Conversely, Alex Kerfoot seems to be having an offensive renaissance in Arizona, freed from the Toronto middle six.
Hoglander is having a career season and has cemented himself under Tochett. The complete opposite of his time under Bruce.

The Kuzmenko situation has been hard to watch because he's not only extremely talented but the nicest guy with a great team first attitude.

In the end Kuzmenko will be a better overall player and to his credit he's not sulking or whining.

How is there any pressure on Vancouver?

Win or lose they are comfortably winning their division. We on the other hand are still a risk of missing playoffs.

Why would there be more pressure on Vancouver?
To try and keep the Leaf cheers to a minimum
