As with every other tough player who's come to Toronto their game of grit and physicality goes completely out the window as soon as they've "acclimated" to the team culture.

Nobody, after they are here for a few weeks, will fight for, or sacrifice themselves for, the Core Fore. This has been every single abrasive/tough guy passing through here the past several years.

Vancouver went from a dump to a Stanley cup contender because they made a couple smart acquisitions and brought in a coach who demanded they play a tough, tight system.

All we’ve done is handed out massive contracts and let Keefe continue to get outcoached over and over and over

More importantly they got rid of a guy who was demanding way too much money, and who was wrapped up in his own self importance!

They had a few guys like that but dumping one of them was all it took.

Save some massive changes, it's almost certainly gonna be another 1st round exit this season...there's zero character to this team...zero.

This is not about cap, this is about players unwilling to hive it up, it's about room issues, it's about coaching

..... Don't strawman me. I listed much more things than "cap"... (what you mentioned) Bad culture and bad coaching, I also listed in my post you quoted. Marner and Nylander will never "hive up"... They're 27+, no coach is changing them.

I think some perspective: The Canucks are one of the top 3 teams in the league. The Leafs are a playoff bubble team.
And it's easy to see the difference: Vancouver is fast, skilled, great forecheck, lots of hustle. Toronto isn't at the same level.

Not so long ago it was the reverse and it was Toronto on top and the Nucks that were struggling. Nucks are playing well, but it does help that they've got Demko back healthy and is playing great compared to the Leafs goalie situation. Alot of mistakes that the Leafs are making can be covered up if they only had a good goalie they can count on.

At this point I just want Keefe to give Hildeby a shot for a few games and see what he can do. It can't be much worse than what we're seeing now.

I don't get how a team can constantly play so bad to start a period. Keefe has to get fired. Leafs can only beat meddling teams consistently. There aren't many meddling teams in the playoffs.

The stars laugh at Keefe because they already know hes weak.

A period like that is more or less a total team effort. No one on the ice or behins the bench escapes criticism for coming out like the San Jose Sharks.

Not great goals but you also can’t be swimming around in your own zone. The leafs got beat to every single puck from the start of the game. Vancouver set the tone early. We didn’t respond, and completely folded.

You're not putting a mentally weak Samsonov in net for 5 periods in 24 hours.

2 of those goals were inexcusable in the NHL.

He let in a goal above his shoulder on the short side.

That can never, ever be allowed in the NHL.

Top corners is where most goals are scored these days...all the goalies play the same style of game.

This is what YEARS of bad decisions look like.

No goaltending. No defense. Awful coaching.

Hoping the losses pile up at this point just so we can get some changes. I don't cheer for losses but something has to give here.

Psst I agree with all you say above.

Coach has to go ( should be the first move) then,...what ever is necessary in order to improve the other areas bolded.

Need a big shake up and personally, glad we are on the road cause that is usually when a coach gets canned and the GM keeps adding especially this time of the year.
